What do you need to run this browser again? sys at the bottom.
-
PPC, OS4 and a huge pile of RAM. Think I've heard that it needs 60MB free?
-
:-o
-
only for ppc and os4. Origyn is not 68k. The speed of the recent (1.12) version is acceptable on classic, but far from fast. So on a 68k it will be very slow, i think.
"Modern" browser use 50-80Mb ram too. (And the vga card's ram too of course) But earlier versiopn of origyn uses more than 100Mb. Now if you use one windows it is "only" 50-60MB. So now you can use it with 128Mb ram equipped card.

Yes, it works just fine with 128M of RAM, PPC and OS4 of course.
I can run it with ~60M free.

No.
Only way to run it on a classic Amiga is by using OS4 with a PowerPC card (Blizzard/CyberStorm). I doubt it will be ported to 68k processors.

has anyone tried Origyn on Morphos ?
-
Well, I could had tried it, if someone made it available for MorphOS, because I think that having two modern HTML 4.0+CSS webkit core browsers will twice the fun...
Unfortunately almost all morphers I contacted said we have enough... Because we have the beautiful Sputnik...
It is really good and more amigaish than OWB, because it is not stuck with SDL libraries, infacts it is MUI4 based and requires far lesser RAM than OWB...
But I think it is bad to have just only ONE modern browser...
I hope that soon Traveller browser for AROS will be ready and it could be ported on various AmigaOSes...

AFAIK OWB doesn't use SDL anymore since version 1.8:
# 1.8 (11.2.2008)
* Implemented the shared timer for AmigaOS4.
* Added a workaround for libxml2 depending on the cygnix libiconv, it should no longer need a Cygnix: assign.
* Implemented the graphics device for AmigaOS4, it's now using an intuition window instead of a SDL one.
* Implemented intuition event handling.
* Implemented the mouse pointers for AmigaOS4, added a help pointer.
* Forms with target "_blank" are opened the same frame as well now.
* Added a simple toolbar (back, forward, stop, url and google search).

its cool to have these new browsers. I will just wait till I have an option. ibrowse is fine but has issues on some pages, and java script.
