Title: DIY Blizzard - How hard?
Post by: persia on February 18, 2008, 09:33:10 PM
I've been looking at the photos of Blizzard cards, they seem to be just a few chips, memory cards and connectors. It appears to be a single layer board.   How hard would it be to build your own?

If you happen to lack the CPLD (or whatever) sources - quite.

I want to make a 030 board for my A500 cpu slot, that looks fairly simple enough to do :-)

Nope, its at least four layer if not six.

Those little chips are all CPLD's, you will have to write code for each chip.

Sorry its not as simple as you think... that said, feel free to try.

There was some nice projects that are "lost in time".

Look for Frances and Lucas (one is an 030 accelerator for the A500/2000, the other is a memory expansion).
