I cannot see what makes this monitor so special.

It's huge and it is a multiscan, quite rare too in this condition. I guess it's just me who finds the stickers slightly interesting. :-?

The best CRT ever?  Isn't that like the best buggy whip ever?

When I first saw the picture the title was simply "monitor" and it looked just like any other 15" monitor, but now I know it's a 21" multiscan, that is slightly more interesting.
But what would be REALLY interesting is knowing when they are going to replace all these monitors with LCD's, I am sure they have hundreds of these monitors, and they would be ideal replacements for the 1084 or similar 14" monitors we have now.
My amiga is turning yellow with Envy. :-D

Ideal if you have a scandoubler...

These things are a dime a dozen.  I got several of them for free.

Sun rebadged them and put them in Sun casework and put a Sun video plug on the back (along with the VGA one) and sold them for UltraSparc's.  As the UltraSparcs get junked/sold, the monitors get junked/sold too.  People don't realise these work with other computers!

They get thrown out a lot for this reason too: A bug in the software causes the screen grid voltage to go off the map, and the display is blinding bright with the brightness control turned all the way down.  The one I am using on my A3000UX right now was like this.  $50 on a cable and software and I am able to fix the monitor whenever this happens.

I did not think you needed a scandoubler with multisync monitors.

I have a sony 21" 520gst, had it since new 2002 i think.. Great monitor, used with pc/mac etc..

It's now my main monitor for my a4000. 15 dsub and bnc on the back means i can connect video card and scandoubler at same time and use button on front of monitor to switch between.

Multiscan is not multisync.

Whether or not you need a scandoubler depends on how low the monitor will sync.
The monitor in question will not sync low enough for NTSC or PAL.

Are they getting ready to be bought out by a company that will change it's name to the name of the company it bought out?
Or are they getting ready for a lawsuit?
