1. External Keyboard:
On the amiga 500 keyboard the is a separate little board with the LEDs and the main keyboard is plugged into that with a ribblon cable, the same width cable as an A1200/600 keyboard.
What would it work if i plugged an A1200 keyboard into this (pre interface?) board?
And if so would i be able to use an A1200T keyboard adaptor?
2.Zorro2 busboard:
I have found a guide on aminet for making a zorro2 slot out of the 100pin A500 slot. The guide can be found HERE (http://aminet.net/docs/hard/AddZorro2slot.lha).
/\ This is the schematic which comes with the guide, the only problem is i want to make a busboard with at least 4x zorro2 sockets. What chips and components would i need and well how would i do it?
3. Would THIS (http://www.vesalia.de/e_a500clockport.htm) work with THIS (http://www.vesalia.de/e_delfina.htm)?
oops i think im starting to think too far ahead :-)
Cheers
Samm.

I have made the above and it did work with a Z2 memory card connected to my A500.
There are some gifs floating around in the A500 section on www.a1k.org forums for a multi slot Z2 bussboard.
-
1- Probably not, the 1200 is some kind different, I think. Use the original keyboard, instead (or one taken from an A2k/3k/4k).
2- Not without a Buster (A500 don't have it) to control more than one Zorro slot;
3- Yes, with a clockport you will be able to connect a Delfina to your A500 (IIRC, someone here in A.org had do it).

Ill have a look!
Ive already been on that site but i got lost, its a big site and its all in German.
-
where can i get buster chips and where do i put them?
one between each slot..?
also. i have 3 amiga keyboards (a4000 i think) and they have a normal keyboard din conector. are you telling me i can just plug it straight in? what pins go where..?
-
one buster chip will control all the zorro slots.

I neither speak nor read German so I had to use the Babelfish mangler but i think this might be what you're looking for:
A500 zorro busboard - german (http://www.a1k.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9121)
horribly mangled translation by babelfish! (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=de_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.a1k.org%2fforum%2fshowthread.php%3fs%3dea8dcb508b1ca558f410ce9aa6dc2091%26t%3d9121)
Anyway hope that helps but ask someone who can read german first :-D

thanks, found a couple things already!
babble fish eh .. ill have to remember that one :-)
-
I still havent found much :-(
I suppose i could just pick at the schematics of an A2000 while comparing the A500 .. It looks like the people who have made these boards have used the A2000 for reference ..? :-?

oh yes and im still a bit confused with the keyboard stuff?

@SamOS39
Check this link for A500 Z2 busboards, it seems there were even more than I remembered.

Buy Vapormatic (http://www.vaporshop.com/vapormatic-vaporizer.html)

Cheers for the link!
Right! I want to make one of THESE (http://amiga.resource.cx/photos/busconverter)!
No schematics ?! wHAT A SHAME
Ill just heve to eyeball this high res image! :insane:

What would it work if i plugged an A1200 keyboard into this (pre interface?) board?
It'll work just fine (did for me at least, it may depend on the A500 revision). Note however that the board will be located akwardly in the middle of the keyboard. I worked around this by swapping the key membrane inside the keyboard (take out the A1200 one, put in the A500 one). Thus I could locate the board to it's usual place.
And if so would i be able to use an A1200T keyboard adaptor?
Depends on the adaptor. If it connects to the CLK, DAT, +5V and GND it'd be much easier to just wire it to the correct locations on the motherboard directly.
-
For example.
I had one of these (http://www.vesalia.de/e_pckey%5B3997%5D.htm) in my A1200T.
I used an A4000/2000 keyboard with it and it worked just fine.
Is there anyway i can get this adapter working with my A500?
cheers

Tell me what you need to know and I'll translate it for ya as I have the time for it...

I think the Amiga 500/2000 technical reference manual has a design for a Zorro II Buss board. It's been a long time since I've read through it though as my copy is in storage. Perhaps somebody has this information for you.
I'll let you know if I run across my copy.

For the A2000...4000 keyboard: it is just a matter of wiring the 4 wires from the A500 mobo for a DIN connector.
For a ready-made explanation in how to do it:A2000 to 500 keyboard (http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/a2kVSA5hKBD)
