Title: Sega Master System + Nes Emulation using amiga
Post by: theformula on February 13, 2008, 04:56:25 PM
Hi I have been looking into emulating some old skool games consoles on my amiga. I have installed AmiMasterGear and AmiNES they both seem to be created by the same person. I am having problems getting the keyboard controls to work and joysticks and pads etc. I have read the docs and the keyboard controls dont seem to be working on my amiga. Anybody know of any way I can get this to work or any other good emulators?

 ALL emulators for Amigas suck..you know why?  none of them reate the proper screen modes or screen sizes for the games. Why oh why, are emulators better on PC? doesnt make sense.

its not even necessary, to emulate scanlines is not even necessary since Amigas can do 320x240 overscan.
Amiga should have the best C=64 emulator and it doesnt.

Are PC emulator programmers better than Amiga ones?

Seriously........at the very very least, Amiga should have the Best C=64 emulator period. inluding proper NTSC and PAL versions.

I know it sucks big hairy boing balls.

I have been looking for decent emulators for ages and they all seem to be buggy or missing functions or they just refuse to play certain games. The Cd32 emulator is probley the only decent one. Bah I just wanna play sonic  :cry:

I'm using AmiMasterGear 0.82.  CD32 pad is plugged into port 2 (I guess, it's not in the mouse port), configuration is set to CD32 pad.  (I've used a Competition Pro too without problems...)

you could try to change your pad to an original amiga pad or joystick. For some reason I've had trouble getting my cd32 pad to work with certain games. The same with my megadrive2 pad. This doesn't happen very often though, luckily....

It's a long time since I used Amimastergear and that gameboy emu, but I can't remember having any problems with them. Really fast emulators too....

@SuperTurbo

Do you have a 060? It seems that lowlevel.library has a bug that you circumvent using this (http://aminet.net/search?query=setjoyport).

Ami Master gear now works after i installed the latest version from aminet. I have a few problems sometimes it will recognise my cd32 pad and other times it wont also everytime I run a game its fine and then it reaches about 2 mins into play and my system crashes and reboots. This also happens with the Nes emulator made by the same person. What could be causing this error?

So far I've nicely emulated a ZX Spectrum in an A4000/060 and a Sega Megadrive using AmiGenerater in an A4000/PPC :-)
