Anyone having any idea of the pin outs of the power connector of THIS (http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search.pl?product=trumpcard&company=#s_trumpcard500) device?
-
I've got one of these, and the manual with pinouts, somewhere. Lemme take a look around and see if I can find it...
-
Found it! From left to right (counterclockwise) looking at the back of the Trumpcard 500:
+5v
+12v
GND
N/C
GND
Hope that helps!
-
Thanx, it may help...
just need to find a connector that suits the trumpcard
-
I think it's the same as an AT keyboard connector...
-
AT keyboard may have to thin leads. the hard drive consumes 8 amps... nearly drowning my 200w AT psu.... the amiga psu wont even start it.... :-D
besides the only din connector keyboard i have i use with my a 1200...
-
Just go buy one of those AT-PS2 adaptors, and hack it apart so you can solder right to the back of the AT side's pins... a proper hack :D

No hard drive uses 8 amps. 8 Watts, maybe. 8 Amps, no way.

Wanna put money on that? I used to have one that had it's own 1200W power supply. It was 10M and the size of 4 A2000's. Well, not quite. About half that size. I do still have the power supply somewhere. I saved it and used it with my A500 way back when.
I hope if you use a Trumpcard your HD isn't too big...
-
My trumpcard uses the original 40MB hard drive. And mongo is right, it is 8W not amps.... Anyway it was to large to run on stock A500 psu... It powered up at first but shutoff the HDD if i tried writing to it...
I use a 200W AT psu on it now, and connect the HDD directly to the psu.
I tried a 340MB HDD. but it wont mount that drive. Is there any limit in the trumpcard how large the disks can be?
-
Yeah, it was the whole reason I swapped mine for a DataCrawler, I mean, DataFlyer. I seem to remember the limit was 500M though. I could be wrong. Also, I seem to remember it didn't like certain drives.

HA! I have you *ALL* beat. I had a DataFryer in a Trumpcard casing! =P
Yeah, that thing was a hog. I had to power that beast with a bigfoot. When I got my first desktop, I gave that bigfoot to some guy in NY, if he paid for shipping.
@$$hole never did pay me back for the shipping charges...... :madashell: :madashell:

I have an even better idea: Just go buy the bloody connector! It costs 50 cents.
