Hi, just got an A1200 from eBay, haven't got it yet as such. First time Amiga user, never touched one before. One of my friends is a huge Amiga/Commodore fanatic, has one of nearly each model. He's going to help me with software and other things with it.
Can't wait to play around with the old thing and see what it does :-)

Welcome aboard! I'm sure you'll get all the help you need right here once you receive your Amiga.
-
Welcome from Sydney, you won't regret your A1200 purchase especially if you get one with a hard drive, you'll be blown away as to how quick an operating system can load!

Thanks for all the replies. I have been told it has a HDD in it, but not sure on its size. Need to get my hands on a CDROM for it, as my friend has a ton of cover CDs from Amiga Format and other Amiga magazines to try out.

Another Hi from Sydney here :-D
Beginning to think this should be changed to amiga.org.au
It makes me wonder why there isn't still an active Amiga User Group here in Sydney though. :-(

Hi from Perth, Western Australia :)
Beginning to think this should be changed to amiga.org.au
Maybe we should start soething up :)
It makes me wonder why there isn't still an active Amiga User Group here in Sydney though. :-(
I wish there was one in Perth. Thinking of starting up something electronic. Any other Perth residents here?

Yet another Hi and welcome from Sydney!!
No, not actually live here, on a short term assignment for my employer. Back to Stockholm in April.
While am at it, any must-go-to amiga places here in Sydney?
Does it always rain like this in Sydney?
Cheers!

@ 560SL
Nah, there aren't really any must-go-to Amiga places here in Sydney that I know of. Commodore Australia was over at Lane Cove (Mars Road), but they're long gone now.
The weather is always a bit crazy here, yes. Hot one minute, raining the next :-D We always get a fair bit of rain in early January/February, but then we don't get a whole lot for most of the year.
Make sure to do all the tourist-y things like go up in Centrepoint or walk the Harbour Bridge! :-)

G'day from yet another Sydneysider.
There is still an active Amiga group which meets once a month (or so) if you are interested:

Welcome, for yet another aussie amiga user (this time from Ballarat(just outside of Melbourne)). Seems there's quite a few of us still tinkering with Amigas here in aus. :)
