I have downloaded this game and burned to a CD. The game boots and I get to the language selection screen, but I can't move the pointer to select a language. is this really the CD32 version, or the Amiga version on a bootable CD32 disc?

I played the game on my CD32, I can assure you tis the cd32 version. Just plug the cd32 controller in the other joyport.

The CD32 version will choke on anything other than a plain, stock, PAL CD32. If you've got an SX1 it needs to be disabled, and NTSC machines need to be booted into PAL.

choke a titbit, yes, it does, but tis not really bothersome even.

Just pop the data files onto your hard drive and then run them via SCUMMVM... Or does it need to be more purist for you? :-)

Hardware is more fun though remember? ;-)

AFAIK the SCUMMVM version (which came with Ubuntu) that I have does not have voices.

Yes, but ScummVM will play the CD32 version perfectly.

LMAO, look if you wanna play it that bad, I can sell you a spare cd32, with powerpack.
...but then you have one......er, so what's the problem again, oh yeah ..
....perhaps you could buy an Original disk hmmm.
