Title: AWeb II - Saving pictures
Post by: Leyther1970 on July 25, 2003, 12:17:59 PM
Hi again

Any one tell me how you can save a graphic or picture from web site.  Internet Explorer you just right click and save....easy.  But AWebb doesn't seem to do this, its probably because its ancient, but not keen to shell out money though as spec of A1200 isn't great for viewing net (no graphics card etc).

Cheers

Not sure about AWeb II, but it is dead easy in IBrowse 2 - just hold the RMB over the image in question, and choose 'Download Image to Disk' from the popup menu.
I have used AWeb (but prefer IB2.3 !) IIRC this ought to be similar.

With a static picture on a web page (Browser Active), SELECT image with the RMB.
This brings up a Floating Menu showing:

Flush image
Reload image
Save image
Show image

I have TWO further options:

AWebDL image
ImageToy

but its likely these are customizations.

Anyway, SELECTING Save image brings up the usual Save- Volumes- Parent- Cancel REQUESTOR.

IF the image is a LINK, there are more options in that Floating Menu:
Open link
Open link in New Window
Load link in background
Download link
Add link to hotlist
AWebDL link

° When the image opens in its own window, I take note of the title Heading and use a Directory Utility to COPY that image from RAM:T/ while the Pic Window is still open.

° To extract the URL from a pic window I FIRST choose 'Open link in New Window' and SELECT that empty AWeb Window behind the Pic Window -- choosing the Menu 'Control/Copy URL'.

And yes, it can be possible to track down an image in the Cache.

Hold down "ctrl" key and then left click on
the image.  This should open a popup menu
that has the option "save image". :)
