Got some Amiga stuff this weekend.
A2000
Rev 4.2 motherboard, Kickstart 2.04, with A2620, A2058, A2320, and ICD AdSCSI Advantage cards, leaky battery, bad power supply, etc. All in original CBM box. Even has old Cherry keyboard (red Amiga keys!).
A4000
In custom tower. Looks like a standard 040 box. But, need to open it up this week to see if it has anything extra. Also came with the original case (virtually unused), in it's original box.
Boxes of books, software, cables, etc. A SuperGen genlock, an A1080, and an "Amiga compatible" AST monitor.
Price: FREE
The really cool thing is it came from Joe Kagerer of JEK Graphics (maker of Pro Fills 1-3). Talking with Joe was fun. I'm always in awe of anyone that actually made a living doing Amiga stuff. Joe showed me his old Amiga demo tape and his animations are very good (although the subject matter was a little dated).
I'll be taking pictures of things as I get them cleaned up and put back into service. (Had to throw up at least one brag here first...) It's my first A2000 so I'm a bit excited about that. At first I was thinking Toaster but since it has an Amber board, I might just try Amix on it.

I'm just wondering, Are those jummy chubby Amiga boxes more populair in the USA then Europe? Since a lot of them seem to be there. :-?

I'm going to try to get some of his animations and artwork off of a number of Syquest disks and hard drives. I'm guessing some of it may end up on his webpage (http://www.jekgraphics.com).

For the A2000 and A3000 probably. I don't think so for the A4000 though.

@adolescent: Never liked the 4000 though, altough I'd like one. 3000 is my girl now, since I never had her model. Wanted too, but way too expensive at the time.

I still have my original A3000 (which I purchased new in 92 or 93). The A2000 is more of a curiosity. I won't be throwing tons of money into it like I did with my A4000. I'll just clean it up as much as I can. Install some needed upgrades; maybe an 030 card to replace the A2620, a CD-ROM, and a new battery.
BTW, my current A4000 is broken. Sometimes it boots, sometimes it doesn't.

I think only the AGA machines are split over the continents like that. The A1200 was more popular in Europe, while the A4000 (partly because of the NTSC-only Videotoaster) was more widespread in the USA.
The other bigboxes are equally spread I think. A2000s are pretty common and cheapish, even over here (I've got 4 - wanna buy one? :lol:)

You need to open it ASAP at see if the battery needs to be removed before it leaks. If it hasn't already.

Battery leakage? That would be out of taste to make a joke out of that, especially publically. :lol:

I got no idea why I don't PM you about the 4000 you sold to me, probably didn't want to bother you and I forgot about that until this topic came up. You seem to know it really well.

No need to even check since it will inevitably leak. It will be taken out this week.

(Talking about my existing A4000...) I was thinking of doing the caps and checking the power supply. The RAM sockets look good and there is no battery damage on the board. It does have a re-worked Buster 11 so there might be other issues.
