I am looking for good video manipulation software. My first platform of choice would be MorphOS easily, but since I don't remember hearing of one being released yet I will ask Wintendo oriented.
I have been trying to use Studio8 and it is HORRIBLY buggy :pissed: :pissed: So right now I am redused to using Nero which has NO freackin features but at least it burns a working VCD.
I'm not looking for much, something with the features of Studio8 and reasonably easy to use. DVD/VCD authoring is a major plus. MOS compatible or XP, no Mac.

For SVCD and VCD, Nero sucks, period.
For grabbing Video I use VirtualDub through my new AIW Radeon 9000. There are lots of filters available to reduce noise etc and it works well.
Converting stuff, TMPEnc does all I need. Converts virtually any video source to a burnable MPEG/MPEG2
Finally, VCDeasy, an all-in-one VCD/SVCD imaging/burning solution. Will take your MPEG's created by TMPenc and either create a cue/bin, or even burn it as well. Allows creation of chapters and addition of MPEG as well.
VirtualDub is freeware, buth TMPenc and VCDeasy are commercial, but have fully functional versions avail for free.

@redrumloa
When you say manipulation software, what do you mean?
Software for adding effects or software for changing screen output size etc
DVD/VCD authoring is a major plus
Not sure about vcds but for dvds, this is what i use
SpruceUp for authoring
Nero or Primo for burning
CloneDVD or DVDXCopy for cloning

@jd997uk
I have a AIW Radeon VE an have been using ATI's TV software. What is this VirtualDub and where did you get it? Links?
I'll check outVCDeasy.
NitrousB
Software for adding effects or software for changing screen output size etc
All of the above would be nice. Studio8 looked like it was going to be a fantastic product, unfortunately it simply does not work! WAAY too buggy, not useable.
I'll check out Spruceup, thanks!!

http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ (http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/).
There is a whole heap of info out there. Check out this: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/capture (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/capture) and go through the ATI stuff.
I had a real b*st*rd time with that ATI software. Luckily, I found http://www.pcphotovideo.com/atipage.htm (http://www.pcphotovideo.com/atipage.htm) and eased my pains.
There's a whole heap of stuff that I've grabbed over the weekend. I'll PM you a list later as it's on my machine at home. Templates, VFW wrappers, etc.

PS: Anyone who can grab the source and convert VirtualDub to work on OS4, gets $100 of my money.
