I want to use a black keyboard with my Amiga, so the only Amiga black keyboard is the CDTV one. Can I use it at once, or I need an adapter or something?
-
use it with what amiga? your A1200?

It reads the subject or else it gets the hose again! ;-)

@ Keropi
I said, A4000. Don't look at this signature :-P

oh, it will work just fine then... if the CDTV keyboard has the bigger AT connector, just get an AT->PS2 adaptor and it will work...

I think the CDTV keyboard it's PS2, so it's ok.

The CDTV one is mini DIN but has different pinout!

The CDTV keyboard does not work with A4000 without modification.
To get a black keyboard, you can simply change the wire to one from an A3000/A4000 keyboard. They have the same connectors inside the keyboard.
Unscrew the keyboards. Make a note of connector orientation (they might be keyed I cannot remember). Unplug cables, swap them over. Downside: the cable will not be black.
Alternatively you could re-wire the connector inside the cdtv keyboard. The connector is crimped so it may need a bit of effort to remove and re-wire.

wow... did not knew cdtv had a different pinout!

I would like a spare CDTV keyboard then I can make a black A1200 ;-)

How about this (http://cgi.ebay.de/Amiga-CDTV-Tastatur-auf-A2000-3000-Adapterkabel-80cm_W0QQitemZ140198453112QQihZ004QQcategoryZ8153QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) cable. And an adapter to use A2000 keyboard on the A4000....

Why not take a black keyboard cable with the right conector and use it into the keyboard you want?
I use to fix broken keyb. cables this way. Just take a dead keyboard with the connector and color of your preference and carefully re-wire it.

I got a CD1221 (CDTV) black keyboard with my Amiga 4000 and it worked fine with the Amiga 4000 w/o modifications. Perhaps, some were made for the Amiga 4000/CD32s although the sticker and model numbers were the same as that of CDTV.
