I was trying to install myst tonight and my myst cd has a bad scratch wwhich turns out to be on the mov folder. so I have the pc version of this game too and thought since it's just qt movies then i could backup my cd and add the pc quicktimes movies to the cd to sort out the problem. so i backed it all renamed the qt movies to match and then installed the game and got a error message that it was'nt a valid movie file, tho they play on the amiga in action. so any ideas on how i can convert the pc files to be used on the amiga in myst?

uicktime files are truly a pain the the butt.
Just like .avi files they use different codecs and if you don't have the right codec, you can't play them.
While knowing the needed codec with an avi is a matter of reading 4 bytes at the right place and just downloading it, it can be a whole different ball game with quicktimes.
Essentially its a matter of having the right version of the player with the required codec in it. You can't just download and install codecs like you'd download divx and then play avi files which have divx in them.
They made sure every step of the way that it stays as out of reach as possible and the answer to your problem usually is to buy a Macintosh computer and a very expensive piece of software...

Are the myst gameplay and looks identical on both computers?
