Title: software for nullmodem cable
Post by: amiga4001 on January 06, 2008, 09:31:17 PM
I have a nul modem cable between my amiga4000 with csppc and trying to boot os4 and an amiga1200.
How do I proceed to see what is happening on the amiga4000 side?
Do I also need miamidx to get a connection between these two?
And which program is most usable for this (easiest).
No fancy thing just something that starts and shows me the output from the 4000.

Term (http://aminet.net/comm/term/Term.lha) will show output from a serial connection.  You don't need MiamiDX to use a null-modem.

Ok term it is but how do I set it up for receiving data through the null modem cable?
Is it only selecting serial.device in the serial settings?
Or are more inputs rewuired to receive data?

I don't understand what it is you're trying to do, but I recommend NComm.

I think he's trying to debug OS4's failure to boot...
