I have an A2000, kickstart 2.04 with a GVP card in it. I have a Plex 12/20 CDRom I want to use in it. Do I need a certain version of workbech or special drivers to get it to mount correctly. It trys to mount but crashes, is the drive to fast?

To use a cdrom, you'll need a filesystem such as AmiCDFS (http://www.aminet.net/disk/cdrom/amicdfs240.lha) or one of the commercial variants such as Asim or Allegro (if I remember the name correctly.)
If you have installed one, make sure the installation is correct. If you have not installed one yet, do so first.

I'm assuming you're using the GVP Impact Series II 2/4000-HC+8 that usually comes in A2000HD systems... I use this board in both my A2000 and A4000.
Install the latest versions of the GVP A4008 SCSI drivers (found here (http://www.gvp-m.com/gvpmfiles/a4008.dms)) and AmiCDFS (found here (http://www.aminet.net/disk/cdrom/amicdfs240.lha)). Edit the CD0 that comes with AmiCDFS to reflect the use of GVPSCSI.device and the device number (SCSI ID) of the drive. And of course, as with any SCSI setup, make sure your device chain is terminated

To Dr_Righteous:

The Commodore Amiga 2000HD always has a Commodore A2091 SCSI Controller Card inside it. So your statement is false! I suggest that you do more homework when it comes to the Amiga 2000HD professional computer. :roll:

Yes Dr_Righteous it is a GVP Impact Series II 2/4000-HC+8, but DoomMaster, it had no HD from the factory cause it is a
A2000, but all is well I have it set up with AsiCDFS and it works GREAT!!!

@ DoomMaster
Must you always be so blunt?
-
@DoomMaster
If we all tell you to 'go away' would that have any effect?

@ iamaboringperson
I can think of 2 words better suited for this situation!

... and I shall use them #### ### DoomMaster

Is that a military grade A2091 Controller. :-D
How do you know the A2000 is still as new and has not been butchered at some point.
He was offering advice based on the information given.
