So I have my A1200 set up with Mitsubishi DiamondScan monitor, OS 3.9. Should I be able to get better resolution than 800x300 non interlaced? That's the best I can find using the Super72 driver. I would like 800x600 non-interlaced - the monitor can certainly do that. Do I need to download a special driver or should 3.9 support this somehow?

800X600 should work, but my monitor does not support that mode...

No

I used to use Super72 back in the day, the interlacing wasn't too bad, but goodness knows what it did to my young eyes!
I believe the best resolution you will be able to achieve will be DBLpal - play around with Overscan preferences and MonEd to increase the visible area. However, be warned, the poor refresh rate is likely to give you a pretty awful headache after looking at a CRT for any length of time.
Good luck,
James

What is your monitor's minimum supported scan rate?
If it goes down as far as 27KHz then you should be able to use DoublePAL (DblPAL) and have 640-720 x 512 or more, non-laced.
Ed: DblNTSC will allow the same horizontal pixels, with a few less lines, at a higher refresh.

This is a 15 khz monitor. So DblPAL or DblNTSC might be the way to go? I'll go give some of those a try....

Using a mode other than Productivity 640-480 16-32 colours is not a good idea.

I disagree.
