Title: Amiga Demoscene Archive: ppc / pegasos screenshots
Post by: z5 on July 19, 2003, 11:23:07 AM
(second attempt at posting this as the previous topic seems to have been deleted / moderated without any obvious reason/explanation)

hi!

At Amiga Demoscene Archive (http://ada.planet-d.net), i try to build a huge archive on the Amiga demoscene. I currently have 280 demos, mainly 68k releases, with a lot more coming.

I don't have a lot of PPC releases because i don't have a PPC card so i can't take screenshots.

So i'm looking for somebody who loves the demoscene, has a PPC card (preferably the fastest) with lots of RAM who would want to supply screenshots from PPC demos and Pegasos demos.

It would be great if i could add lots of PPC releases to make it more complete.

Thanks!

i gave it up for now , as i sent u for 5 productions... i got maybe around 20 to be grabbed but in general not much likes to be grabbed o an a1200 , and p96 doesnt work very well with ppc demos in general.

i have built a ppc database, a full site of info to see what demos work on p96,wos,pup,cgx and pegasos..
it will be open in a few weeks time.

will also hgave every ppc demo ever made (i hope :) ) , atm its over 70 files there.

z5: so u must specify, tell the grabbers that IT should be an a4000 csppc user with CGX and not p96, he should have a minimum of 128 meg ram and a nicice steady system.

i hope that helps u out, email me or just ask here if u have more questions , btw i am sorry i couldnt help more, but cgx emu on mediators p96 is really bad.  (might be fixed...might not..)

cheers

Well, seems there are not a lot of people here with a PPC card. I wonder how many have been sold?  Or there aren't many willing to help :-(

As for the requirements, i know that you need a pretty heavy config to take screenshots. There seem to be very few people around which such configs and an interest in demos.

 @Lempkee:
Do you know how many of those PPC demos run on a Pegasos? Maybe that's the way to go if nobody turns up.

I would love to help, but I can´t remember many ppc-demos, which work on my system (A1200PPC+BVPPC). It´s just too bad, that the makers do not check for more hardware, and releases some fixes...
