Title: Asimware
Post by: zyphoid on December 11, 2007, 12:47:12 AM
AsimTunes I use to be able to play cd's without cd jack speakers(audio out on cd drives in front)by setting amiga audio in the settings.  Since my OS3.9 re-install i haven't been able to hear a cd play, just static.  it use to use the available mem, buffing down, then back up as it played through a amiga audio out (connected to a tv)
The graphic mem still cycles, but no music, just static.  Any Clues? Is there a similar prog which will work?
I did try playing with the settings again, but no success.

If you installed CacheCDFS, AsimTunes probably can't handle it. Make sure the DOSDrivers for your CD drive are using AsimCDFS.

For reasons I never understood, I *never* got any Asimware program including CD drivers to work at all no matter what.

Code: [Select]
ed devs:dosdrivers/cd0

What does it say?

Easiest solution is to just reinstall AsimCDFS.

I installed squirrel scsi drivers for my A1200 PCMCIA squirrel scsi device and the drive shows up, etc. Is it dangerous to also install the AsimCDFS? Or can they coexist nicely? I prefer the Asim software suite....

What CD-filesystem comes with Squirrel scsi?

But anyway, you can have several cd-filesystems installed on your system and you can then switch whatever you want to use of them. Just make backup copy of the cd0/cd1/etc files from devs:dosdrivers/ or sys:storage/dosdrivers/ before installing a new filesystem.

For example, I have several dosdrivers for cd:s in my sys:storage/dosdrivers/ dir:

CD0asim (L:asimcdfs with atapi.device)
CD0asimscsi (L:asimcdfs with 1230scsi.device)
CD0cbm (L:CDFileSystem)
CD0amicdfs (L:AmiCDFileSystem)
CD0 (L:CacheCDFS)
etc...

It's just that they're using different filesystem from L: and/or different device. Open those driver files with texteditor and see :)

You can then mount whichever you want or drag wanted one to devs:dosdrivers/.

I dont know, I'll try re-installing as PVC says, and back up the existing files. I know I did this before without success, but I'll be more diligent!

ok the issue is that I cant play the adio cd with asimtunes. Diskchanger recognizes the cd well. and everything else works. its the streaming which is the issue.

anyone else with a successful setup streaming the audio to amiga on their system. I know my issue is something simple

edit: and it was! the buffer wasn't buffing correctly don't know why I didn't get a popup on that but I corrected it in the user-startup and I also did what Matt_H said which was to reinstall the program ( under expert so I could see everything going on) for anyone else having issues this is worked for me! Thanks Matt_H and all..and to all a good night!
