Title: Many Blizz 060 on ebay
Post by: Faerytale on December 10, 2007, 07:40:37 PM
I have never seen so many blizz 060 on ebay at once. Is it because of OS4 classic?

Hopefully they're not just scammers trying to cash in on the whole OS4 and other classic amiga scene.

I thought this kind of stuff http://cgi.ebay.com/Amiga-1000-VERY-RARE-Phoenix-board-1200-4000-PPC-OS4_W0QQitemZ110203848060QQihZ001QQcategoryZ4598QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem was actually against ePay rules.

I think it's quite natural people trying to sell their 060's to get PPC's to run OS4. and PPC owners not interested in OS4 would take this opportunity to let their cards go at a high price.

People sell their cards now, because they know that most people get christmas gratification and now have the money to bid high.

Why? I can't seem to find anything sticky about that auction.. You mean the auction title?

The fishy part here seems to be the title which is misleading, at the very least. What an A1000 has to do with OS4/A4000/A1200/PPC????

'bout the same as a fish with legs has to do with Homo Sapiens.

But still against eBay rules.
"Misleading Titles

Sellers are not permitted to create titles for their listings that do not accurately describe the item for sale.

Some Examples

The title "Louis Vuitton Handbag, Cartier" is inappropriate and not permitted on eBay (even if a Cartier item is included as a bonus gift with purchase of the handbag) because it is unclear as to whether the seller is offering one or two items from the title.

If a seller lists an auction simply as “Apple iPod”, the seller must be selling an actual Apple iPod – not accessories to an Apple iPod – or items related to or unrelated to an Apple iPod.

Why does eBay have this policy?

eBay has this policy in order to support an efficient shopping experience on eBay for all members by ensuring that listing titles accurately describe the item being listed."

once I got my ad removed when I posted a max machine with words "commodore 64" in the title. (it was something like : "Max MAchine - ancestor of commodore 64") this guy definitely deserves removal but I'm too lazy to report.

Is it still legal to sell a cardboard box with a big X on it as an X-Box?  I know a guy who made a mint doing that the first time XBoxes were going on sale.  He got the idea after buying a real Xbox, then selling the emtpy packaging it was in on ePay as "The packaging for an Xbox" and fetching like $800.
