Title: Aweb missing cache list
Post by: Protek on December 10, 2007, 07:59:20 AM
I tried to upgrade Aweb to a newer version but I accidentally installed it to a different folder than the earlier one, resulting that both versions are now missing the cahce list. When Aweb is run, I get "Please insert volume Cache into any drive" every time. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both versions and I now have only the full 3.4 version installed. There is probably some reference to the cache that I don't know about.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Run Aweb, cancel all 'insert volume xxx' requesters, then go to the Settings menu, then 'network settings', then 'Cache' tab, change to your original cache DIR, save.... using AWeb APL 3.5.07 here, BTW ....

Thanks! That did the trick.
Had to revert back to Aweb 3.4 because the 3.5.xx does a Guru every time you try to load a web page. Shame though, since the graphics in navigation buttons in 3.4 are all garbled up so you cannot make anything out of them. In 3.5 the nav buttons looked ok.

i also have an original aweb, install aweb3.5apl into the same folder, no problem.you need to have an original aweb to use all the plugins from 3.5apl.

read the readme file in the plugins drawer to edit the buttons & plugins? eg: go to aweb drawer storage/buttons, select the button set you chose ,from the pulldown menu info.edit the tooltypes, delete TRANSPARENT save & exit.
next, open aweb,settings/browser settings /viewers scroll down to find the new plugins gif/jpeg/png, select each in turn, edit the PROGRESS=O HIT RETURN,save & exit.

this cures the messed up graphic buttons.
