Before I continue, understand this is *NOT* my auction. I came across it in my travels of eBay. Normally I'd droll at the idea of buying myself, but it is in California and I am in FL.. Will not work. If someone buys it, lemme buy a few items from you :-D
64 & More Store (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140185857654&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004) is for auction in it's entirety. Current bid? $152.50! Looks like this could be a steal, go for it! PM me after you buy it :-D
-
I thought "get it cheap enough, rent a PODS to make the move..." Seemed simple enough. $4500 to move it that way.
-
I was thinking along similar lines. Buy it, take a week off, fly to California, rent a uHaul one way, drive back to FL myself. But doing quick back of the envelope calculation and figuring using vacation time, it just can't be justified.
-
All I can say is... :-o
-
Hey, Red, we should mount a war party and head out there!
-
If you guys buy this stuff, can you sell me a copy of Addams Family for teh amiga? :p

Tempting, very tempting but no can do. Bad timing for me :-(

Man so kicking myself, this is the kind of thing I love to do go through a ton of old computer gear.
Wrong country! There must be some computer store down here that someone wants to unload for that sort of cash???? :D
If I was near by I'd chip in some cash and jump at the chance for a road trip to go pick it all up :)
Maybe if I win big on this weeks lotto I'll resign and buy a ticket :D

I use to shop at this store, They had everything with Commodore and Amiga. I bought items when it was a store, they had many software titles and many type of 64, 128 500 etc...
I have been looking because I live in San Diego and not sure to bid on it or not. I have a truck but that's a lot of items. I want the hardware more than the software. They had a good repair person at this store who work on my A2000. They had it on a bid already once before, not sure what happen but it fail through, it was up to $2000 plus. The high bider at this time has bought from him before? I need help what should I do? I have seen the items, and when they say in original wrap, I know they are telling the truth.

I'd say bid, you might get it for a good price. Plus you sort of know what the goods are like so you have the added avantage of knowing what you are bidding on.
Although the pictures and youtube stuff gave me a rough idea of the amount of stuff.
Man.. still kicking myself. All that stuff would keep me busy for months sorting through it.
Nothing beats digging through boxes of stuff looking for a hidden treasure or two :)

hahahaha:
"Q: You may wanna restart your auction as you have started at $50.00 instead of the $5000.00 that your auction description said. P.S. Can I have a free A1200 w/at least an 030 accelerator and 64MB RAM for pointing this out and saving you from possibly losing thousands more than you may already lose. Please? :D Dec-03-07
A: No, I want the auction to be $50. I really have to get rid of this stuff. The $5000 was a leftover from the last auction. Nice try though Paul"
some guys do have no manners or plenty of nerve to beg for free stuff doing nothing.

This is the second time this year that this man sells his business :-O ... How can you sell the same stuff twice :-O ... *LOL*
-
from what he's saying, he probably never sold it, and he's letting it go without any reserve.
-
Well Red, if you do go for it and drive back via Lake Charles, Louisiana then I'll offer you a free bed for the night to rest up if you let me dig through the van and have first dibs on what's inside. :-D
-
I'd buy this if it was in the UK & make a business of it... DAMN!!!!
...oh well
-
As I said elsewhere I hate being in Australia sometimes.. Damit !!!!!
I would bid in a heart beat....
There's got to be someone around like him in Oz... :-(
-
He has some nice stuff, and I would be tempted to bid. But, I am almost ashamed to admit, I have much more stuff than he does. :-(

This is the third attempt to auction it. The first had a starting bid of $2000 and received no bids. The second had a starting bid of $5000 and had the same result.
I think he just doesn't have time to mess with it anymore and the overhead is $320 per month to keep the stuff. I think most of the good items have already been sold and there is not much good hardware left. The software is hard to sell for much profit, just look at eBay to see that even NIB items only get about $10 to $15 plus shipping. Some don't sell, or sell for only 99 cents to $5 each.
Anyone interested in participating in a group bid, send me a PMail. I will be out all day today but will check messages tonight.

I have bought from Paul and he is a nice person. His inventory is legitimate and if you live in CA and can haul this, I think this will be a great deal.
That said, he was a rental store in the real Amiga days and much of this software is well used with green (non-removable) stickers across the front. So for boxed game collectors there is really nothing there for you.

DO TELL!!! :-D
Actually i wouldn't mind a pic or two of your stuff..
That way at least break my heart properly instead of leaving it to hang in there by a thread..

Gee, the poor fella! His starting price for that lot was $5000.00 on eBay a while back. That amount was well under what his actual Inventory was worth. He must be gutted!
Best of luck to him.
-
For the love of God, someone bid on this auction!!

Well, to be fair to the buyers, the prices listed for all of his inventory are a bit out of date and therefore inflated.
It is the overhead of having to pay the storage unit charges that is a killer on the deal, so unless the buyer can work at starting and completing enough auctions each month to pay the rent and make it worth his time, it won't pencil out to be an attractive purchase. I for one don't want to work for $3.00 an hour searching through all the un-inventoried items and taking pictures to put up with the auctions. That process is time consuming. As for the items that are already in inventory, I am guessing that the prices have to be reduced to get them to sell more quickly to make the rent and pay the owner for his time. That is just the way I see it, but don't take my word for anything, as I am the current high bidder, so I am prejudice about this topic.
