Hi! I'm new here :-D
Ok the problem is:
I want to put GP/Varta Batteries 2000mAh in my Sony discman. Can I just do this or isn't it good for the minidisc to put there NiMH batteries in it.
And does it matter if I put 2000mAh, or 1800mAh or higher in it?

Hey FalloX dude .. ;-)
I wouldn't know ... sorry
-
Hello Fallox
I dont think the type of battery will matter but i would make sure the output of the battery matches the output of the original battery.

The mAh rating is a measure of the capcity of your battery. A higher number will last longer.
Ensure the voltage of the battery you wish to replace is comparable.
Some (And only some) devices don't like rechargable devices as they output a lower voltage (1.2V in the case of NiCd, don't know about NiMH). As a side note, Rechargable batteries have a lower internal resistance.... so they get hotter when you short them out ;-)

I don't understand, i have the same model wich yoiu have, why you want to change the battery? My battery plays lp4 for more than 50 hours.
And i think the original battery is an NiHM
-
you are fine to replace the batts for
rechargeables just check amps + volts
if they are the same .... no probs
I personly use Nickle Hydride(sp) for all
my rechargeable needs because it has a
higher output similare to non rechargable
batts ..... at least thats what my locale tech
head shop guy says :-D

reaction on ikir:
because I only have a NiHM charger.
-
hmm I finally found the manual :-D and it says:
Use a rechargable Ni-Cd battery, A LR6-battery (AA-format, or an auto-accu (I hope I say auto-accu in correct English :-P )
Does this mean that every AA battery fits?

mAh is a measure of current output over a certain time. It wouldn't matter if the batteries were 10,000 mAh - a device only pulls as much current as it needs. Only voltage is a consideration when figuring out what batteries will work.

Ok I got the anwser from the Sony site.
Can I use NiHM batteries, awnser : YES :-D
So this topic can ben closed.
