I have just about given up trying to find a nice A2386 (short of a miracle on ebay). So it looks like I may have to try and repair the one I have. It was pretty badly damaged by a corroding battery before I received it.
Does anyone have schematics or a service manual for the A2386SX board? Mine is functioning except for the on-board floppy controller is completely dead. It won't even allow a single shared floppy drive to work on the Amiga side. This is also the area of the board where most of the damage is.
I'll start working trace by trace first without one and see how far I get as time permits. Also is this a 2 layer board, or more? I may have some damaged VIA's, and if it's four or more layers I'm probably sunk.
Thanks,
Jeff

It would be very difficult to find schematics for that as there were probably 100's of different boards. Just pick up a floppy controller like this on ebay # 140184721048. I had numerous boards with sound, ethernet, etc. that fail and its usually cheaper to just throw a different controller in the box.

Jeff,
I don't know if he will still have it but it is worth a shot. Ray at Raymond Commodore LINK (http://www.visi.com/~raycomp/) might have a 2386 bridgeboard that my dad had sold to him with a bunch (a whole van full) of stuff a couple of years ago. I don't think he has much turn around on his stuff, the BB had the original box with documentation if I remember correctly.

@amiga92570
I never even thought of that. I'm sure I already have a floppy controller around here.
@amesie2
I'll try contacting Ray anyway. I would still like to find a working one. I already have Cyrix 386SX to 486 upgrade and I know it works.
Thanks,
Jeff
