Hi all
I have configured PC-Task to open on a CGX screen, and it does so when it boots DOS. But when I start Windows, it opens an AGA screen. Is there any way I can get Windows to open on a CGX screen?

Depending on the OS version you may be able to do this:
1. Find out the exact screen name. PPaint screen grab may help.
2. Config the mui screen handler thingy (strait down mui:) with a screen with the same name.
3. Write a script that opens the screen (like: muiwhatever open Windows) then start PC Task and finally closes the window again (!). Hint: check that mui things arguments in a shell window.
If this doesn't work and PC-Task still opens a new window then you have no options than to dig into the aminet swamp and try finding a screen promotion utility.
Unfortunately stuff like this sometimes is only found bundled with unrelated archives; in this case a graphics driver archive or an RTG archive would be the best bet.

I think PC-Task 3.1 is the same as 4.4 (that I'm using)....
In that, you have to configure all the screenmodes from the start-up options, otherwise it'll use defaults, i.e. native screen modes.
You'd usually want to use 640x480x8 I suppose for Windows 3.1, maybe 800x600x8 - check particularly screenmodes like that are set properly.
Incidentally, you can't run Win '95 on less than version 4 ofPC-Task, and even then it's not really usable.

the problem is the same here on p96.
@spirantho: I set the screenmode on the startup of pc-task, but there is only for one resolution option to set! Or if there is another setup, or txt which we can edit?

Hi there,
A bit OT, but im thinking of tinkering with PC-Task 3.1 too.
I’m trying to run a Ham radio encode/decode utility in PCx, but it doesn't access either the mobo serial or Hypercom serial correctly. Anyone any comments re PC-Task and port access?
Hodgkinson.
