Title: WTB Commodore A2024 monitor (preferably in UK)
Post by: mark_k on November 30, 2007, 03:12:56 AM
Hi,

Does anyone (preferably in the UK due to shipping cost) have a Commodore A2024 monitor for sale?

The A2024 is a 15" greyscale monitor which has special hardware which (in conjunction with the A2024 monitor driver on the Amiga) allows screens of 1024x800 or 1024x1024 pixels to be shown.

Sorry your not in the USA. I do have a 2024, and it's really great for desktop publishing. The clarity is superior to other Amiga monitors.

You should be aware that the NTSC and PAL versions are a bit different. You won't be able to pixel sync if the standard does not match - learned this when hooking it to an old A1000 which had been NTSC->PAL converted. The problem was fixed when the A1000 got a PAL clock, probably also possible the other way around.

I've got one, but I don't think I'll part. ;-)

Zac67: Thanks for that info, interesting.

I just won an A2024 on eBay. Less than EUR 5, but the postage from Germany to the UK will kill. :)

I'd also like to get hold of an A2024 service manual, and a Moniterm video slot card. (That should allow the 1024x800/1024 image to be shown on a modern PC monitor.)

Ask the seller to check out Hermes - they should be the cheapest to ship.  ;-)
