The new SDK needs to be released immediately, preferably yesterday. Even if the user base expands, if the developer base doesn't, the situation will remain dire.

Indeed. I'd run it, if it ran on a MAC or PPC/RISC emulator, a la Amithlon.

Oh well. They don't get my bill. :-(

I must say I am confused with the term 'for classic Amiga' as it seems you need some very non-classic items to run it. So, excuse my question, but will )S4.0 work on my a1200 with 030/50MHz accelerator?

nope hamtronix.

AmigaOS4 for Classic needs a PPC equipped card like a BlizzardPPC (for A1200) or a CyberstormPPC for A3000/T and A4000/T

I can't run it either.  I would buy it if it worked on WinUAE.  But I don't have a PPC accelerator for my A4000, and it isn't worth $800-900 for me to get one that's used.

What are the differences between the public SDK and the latest one?

The AmigaKit website is down at the moment.  We'll see what they come up with when their back.

There was a thread about it on AmigaWorld.net saying that whenever two people tried to preorder at the same time it would lock the second one out.

I was on the site and I was not ordering, just browsing. I clicked on OS 4.0 and it said not available.

Hmmm... They're back up now but I get the same result as you got.  If you look on their new products page (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/newproducts.php) it says at the bottom "expected date 12/05" so I assume they are looking for the ship date rather than any more preorders.

Specifically, I've no idea, but the current one...
a) was only available to registered OS4/A1 users and now seems to have been removed from Hyperion's page
b) has bugs
c) contains obsolete components

An updated version is critical.

you know it's a sad day... the amiga web site doesn't even acknoledge the os 4 release. is that a bad omen?

I was thinking of getting a copy just to have one on hand in case it ever runs on a Pegasos or EFIKA.

I've been waiting for a new SDK since OS4 Final was released... Am quite eager to get some apps out there... But I don't wanna dev with an old SDK... Just 'cause I'm fussy..

I have faith that a new SDK won't be far away now, since the userbase and developerbase can now expand due to the classic release...

Hmmm, Think I'm gunna go play on the AmigaOne, it's been neglected the past couple of months as I've been busy on other things... Time to have FUN :D

There is no mention of it running the Video Toaster software/hardware. :getmad:

I'm surprised AI didnt try to stop this from happening.. I guess I'll believe it when amigakit posts pics of the actual product in their hands.

Weird, I notice that Paradox isn't on the official resellers list.
Must be an oversight :-/

The explaination I've had from Amigakit is "Everytime someone buys a copy, we have to manually re-enable the item because it is a preorder"

It's probably down to the way their stock system works but if the item is not there you cannot order !! Potentially they could be losing orders so I do not see why there is not a statement on the home page to this effect.
