Title: Dataflyer 1000
Post by: mike- on November 29, 2007, 03:46:04 PM
Hi,

I have one of these 1 (http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/dataflyer1000) 2 (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=544)  . But I don't have any installation disk or anything, and was wondering if any of you guys could help me out, if that disk is even necessary that is....

The thing says autoboot, but im noticing a distinct lack of that... Should this just work or do I need the disk?

I noticed it says that it needs at least KS1.3 to boot and anything less requires the autobooting ROM to be disabled by a jumper.  So, do you have KS1.3 or higher and if so then it could be because the jumper is set to disable the autoboot ROM.

Just a wild guess.  I hope you get it to work.   :-)

Does anything show up at all?  Have you tried booting using a floppy and then using SysInfo (or early startup control, depending on your KS ROM) to "see" if the SCSI card is recognised and then (assuming it is) using HDToolbox to prep and format your hard drive?

Also, assuming the SCSI card is device 0, make sure that the jumpers on the hard drive are set for device 1-7 (and that it is indeed a SCSI drive and not IDE).
