Has anybody had any succes in upgrading the 68040 to 68060 by modifying/soldering the processor board?
In theory this should work.
Another ROM is needed to handle the 68060. Why is there no ROM dump file available anywhere so you can flash your own and use that? That's a bit weird isn't it.
Then the voltage must be reduced to 3.3V. I guess this must be done on the processor board because if you have to do that on the base board the modular design would have been negated.
Or does this not work because the processor board has a design flaw that makes upgrading it impossible.

A friend of mine owns a 68060 MK1, if you have any tool to "read" the 060 firmware tell me and I'll try to dump it and send it to you. BTW, I would be interested in the 040 rom too.

I just got the card. Still have to install it but mine doesn't have a ROM on it.

Could somebody please make some detailed pictures of the CPU module? I can see I need to add and change some components below the processor next to the connector.

So no one here has some high resolution photo's, ROM code or other information about an upgrade?

Well I've dug out the A4 sized book that came with my Cyberstorm MK-I 060/50 titled:-
CYBERSTORM
High Performance
68040/68060
Accelerator System
for the AMIGA 4000
UsersManual
As it is for both the 040 and the 060 I was hoping it might cover upgrading or at least have a decent pic to scan. But unfortunately there is nothing in there that will be of any help to you :-(
