Post by: corsavert on November 26, 2007, 11:40:41 PM
Installing Dataflyer 1200, driver installed and now formatting 550mg hd. Question - it's at "Writing RDB-Blocks".... how long should this take? It's been at it an hour already....

Look like you have a termination problem to me.

 Check (or re-check) the terminators.

It's working!!! I had two problems....

Needed to BOOT from the Dataflyer install disk to run the partition & format... not just launch the utility from my own WB.

Once formatted, 3.1 couldn't access the 4gb (actually something like 4068mb) drive - too big I guess.

A 540mb drive then worked fine...

Real SCSI drives don't have the 4Gb barrier issue! It only happens in IDE devices.

But the FFS you have could be the problem. Use only to a bit less than 2Gb each partition.
