Title: Beware this ripoff artist
Post by: sweetlilmre on November 23, 2007, 10:50:00 AM
Hi,

Firstly to the mods: If this is considered a personal attack I apologise, but people need to know about this person.

Paradox is a total scam artist.

As some of you may know, I ordered a keyboard and floppy from him off eBay about 3 months back now. The keyboard and floppy were sold as "mint condition". Today I finally received the keyboard and floppy.

The keyboard is the most dirty / yellow / disgusting A1200 keyboard I've ever seen. It looks like its been in a smoking room for the last five years and then been given a dirt bath.

The floppy is in a similar condition and on top of that does not read discs.

I have mailed this ar**hole and demanded a full refund. If I do not receive this refund, I will initiate a chargeback.

Please, for you own safety DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from Paradox / AlienTek. I think its unbelievable that he was complaining about doomy! The shear arrogance!

I think everyone hates him now to be honest. We all think hes that Doomy guy and I especially dislike him for bad mouthing moto but he had not done / said bugger all to paradox.
I could trust that guy about as far as I could throw him. Sorry dude but it looks bleak if that's his attitude.

How come everyone is so sure he was the guy that created all the accounts to badmouth Moto and Wayne? If that was proven he'd be banned now, wouldn't he? AFAIK he's still here.

This has nothing to with ripping people like Sweetlilmre off, which is worth a ban in itself IMHO, but still...

Just a thought. I am sure we all have some hardware laying around we are not using, and thinking about getting rid off.
How about a thread with stuff for sale, condition and pictures? Then if some thief starts to post, moderators simply deletes the posting.
There would be no E-Bay fees, Doomy fees, and I think we can trust each other.

I couldn't possibly sell knowing I'm ripping someone off. I'd be worried sick.

Well paradox was getting a grilling off me and moto.  Then paradox called moto gay.  I stuck up for moto, and then hey presto suddenly a new account called "dikinbum" was posting the most chilidsh dribble about me, moto and wayne.  Sorry I dont believe in coincidences that strong.

Missed that one! I only saw the childish postings by different new user accounts. I don't believe in coincidences too it such a case ;-).

Sweetlilmre, post a picture of the keyboard, I want to see if it really is in as bad as condition as you say. Thanks.

Thats Not even in the dirty league.....

Bibby Agriculture - Newark on Trent....circa 1990, Opus PCIII (Feed Bag Labelling System) Check out http://www.format-tripos.com/index-page2.html (I used to work for them)

The PC was kept in a Plywood Portacabin inside the plant....which during the summer it collected Flies by the 1000's. The Staff (dirty B*) swatted a good few of those 1000's on the screen, case, keyboard..it was caked in blood and dead flies.

One day we had to clean it because no one would go in because it stank of rotten flies + added to decaying animal feed dust from the plant....I must have removed about 100's if not a thousand from inside the case /indide the monitor etc, the stench was horrendous......Hozed it down with a compressed airline to clear all the dust and debris. Best part was that still worked.

;)

I'm not sure I'd call him a ripoff "artist".  Perhaps ripoff enthusiast?

Perhaps a fscking botard  :-(
Actually I think there may be some sort of neurological / psychological misfunction here. He certainly exhibits some interesting symptoms...

@ All

The Amiga site you are wishing for is being worked on at OldSkool UK, it will be called Amibay and has nothing to do with any auction site.

It's being created to fill the gap left by Amibench and it will be for retro sceners who have kit they want to sell without going through Fleabay or pay seller's fees.

Info here:

http://z10.invisionfree.com/Old_Skool_UK/index.php?showtopic=1237&st=0&#last

WTF

By the way, Paradox lives about a mile or so from me, he's sod all to do with Doomy but just as bad by all accounts. I hope the real Paradox crew catch up with him and sort him out for abusing their good name.

Somehow I don't think Doomy, Paradox or any of their alternative names will get onto Amibay.

@ sweetlilmre

Would you like me to call on Robert O'Neill / Paradox / Alien^Tek / whatever he calls himself this week and "represent your interests" in him refunding you?

WTF

I think its very sad that no matter who they are, that they should con people in the way that they do.

What on earth do they get out of it?

Please don`t say money, yes I know that, I mean does it make them feel a better human being for doing it?

I hope one day it comes back on them, as I believe in karma, surely it will.

Easiest way to deal with it, is where was it shipped from? If it's from Beaverton, Oregon, then it's Mr. Campbell AKA, Doomy.

If that's indeed the case, let me know. I live an hour away from there.
Title: Re: Beware this ripoff artist
Post by: WotTheFook on December 13, 2007, 09:28:29 PM
Nope, Paradox AKA Alien^Tek is in the UK, and AFAIK has nothing to do with Doomy (although he could be a long-lost twin I suppose).

If he needs visiting, it can be arranged....I am less than 10 minutes from him.

WTF

Hmm thankyou very much!

As you may well know ebay and paypal are c%n&ts!

So we have made a new website and gone onto ebid instead.

If you had any problems in the past I must have been going through personal issues and decided to bunk.

I'm a very controversal person in the Amiga world due to my knowledge and who ive worked for etc.

I have got into many arguments and caused alot of fuss, but I have always stated my true honest opinions and thats what counts.

Like the time I mentioned that software could ruin ie break amiga hardware people went crazy.

My radical ideas do not suit certain people relentless attempt to mess up the amiga brand.

Infact I designed the MorphPad a few years befoer the actual Ipad come out!

I got into arguments with certain people where I worked because I had bright ideas that could make money.

Just to point I never had any problems with BPlan they were great! and I wish they made more boards.

Anyway Ive got a small website now with a few amiga items in and i sponsor a football club and I am resposible for their radio and shop also!

http://www.paradox-computers.com (http://www.paradox-computers.com)

there is also a list of items I have for sale here http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=59760&page=3 (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=59760&page=3)

Plus you are very welcome to come to my home and have a coffee and chat.

When did they add an extra letter to "c%nts"? Also, you do realize that this constant blithe spamming of your business when the accusations of fraudhood against you still haven't been resolved is just making you look shadier, right?

Well, first of all, thanks for warning us all Sweetlilmre. I'm disgusted every time I see such behavior, greed is a truly sickening disease. The only time I ever got shafted with an Amiga deal was with an Elbox tower I bought from some guy in Germany. It took me a whole year to get it from the guy. He finally delivered after I threatened to sue him. Apart from that all my Amiga related buying ( and selling I might add) has been very positive. I'll be after an A1200 keyboard myself soon, think I'll just get one from Amigakit.

Order some stuff from him then.

Four years ago he was a chav living with his mum in their estate housing. I doubt much has changed so I wouldn't worry too much about his welfare, he's covered by the dole.

Yeah, when someone comes back and desperately spams for half a dozen posts pleading for people to buy stuff from him and calling people meany-meany-heads for remembering the trouble he caused, that doesn't really say "give this guy your confidence and money."
