Hi there!
My system:
Amiga 500, 2MB, Kick 2.04, WB 2.1
A590, ROM v7 (37.64), Scsi-Chip PL-02, no additional ram; board revision 6
harddisk: 1GB SCSI NEC
Problem:
The hdd is found by HDInstTool v6.9 and partitions can be created. But i only get 50MB partitioned (in one or two or three partitions) and without errors formated. When I want to use 60MB, after format the partition is NDOS under WB2 and with WB133 I get Read/Write Erros when accessing the hdd.
Anyone has a hint 4 me? Thx.

If i am not completely out on the field.
the A590 without the latest chips can only see disks of max 540 or 600MB

arent the v7 (37.64) the latest chips?
or do you think of the scsi-chip version pl-02? i will try the actual version pl-08, but i thought, this would only increase the performance.
thanks a lot

I have no idea...
BBOAH (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=534) knows better.
Though:
There are several versions of the ROMs for the A590, Version 6 ROMs only allow hard drives up to 512MB in capacity. Version 6.6 and 7.0 ROMs have been reported to work successfully with drive sizes up to 9GB but you will need at least OS3.5 to use drives over 4GB. Notice the names of the LEDs on the unit, named Fred and Wilma.

Using WB2.1, means HDtoolbox should work...
Maybe you are in better luck with that.
Perhaps "HDInstTool v6.9" is the problem
EDIT:

i tried HDtoolbox before using HDInstTool: same problem.
