Title: A1200 Clock
Post by: Leyther1970 on July 14, 2003, 09:42:37 PM
I have similar problem on A1200.....not really checked into properly yet....tried changing battery on accelerator card but still doesn't remember time.  When setting time I do click Save and not USE.  Is this the Save Command you mentioned or is this from shell or something.  Another words where do I do this.

Cheers
Paul

open a shell, then :

set the date with

> date DD-MMM-YY
> date HH:MM:SS

after that store the time with

> setclock save

to try your settings set the date to any time you want, ie:

> date 12:12:12
> date
output : Tuesday 15-jul-03 12:12:14

then

> setclock load
> date

output : the right date

if this doesn´t work, your problem might be a hw prob.

Hi again

I did the above, and yep the result we was looking for was fine.  But still when I switch off and switch back on I have problem.  I have noticed the date and time seems to pause until next switched on???!!
Then if not used for a day or something it goes way off.......Is battery low?  Is it the battery on accelerator card that controls the clock or is this on main motherboard

the battery might be low. perhaps you can take a multimeter and try to measure the voltage.
if the voltage of the battery is far below the voltage written on it, you can say the battery IS low.
normally it should be a standard 3v3 battery type, therefor it would be no prob changing it.

good luck ;-)
