As the title says;
AmiBench (http://www.amibench.net/)
Fs..... :-(
-
i m sure its just a techincal fault at hand here. there has been no warnings about amibench closing so expect to see it up and running again soon (hopefully).
-
If it's technical, then it's someone playing a joke or a hack. Otherwise, it looks pretty official to me.
I like the page design :)
-
still works partly:
http://www.amibench.org/cgi-bin/view.pl?type=wanted
i think its just being updated!
-
That's too bad. I always liked AmiBench. I remember it really took a hit though when there turned out to be a crimial operating in the Wanted/FS sections. Not sure it ever really recovered after that.
i m sure its just a techincal fault at hand here.
Read the browser message carefully. It looks like a standard error message, but isn't. It's always possible the site might have been hacked.

well the link i provided works and can still be updated. remember the front pade of amibench said a while back about them looking for gfx artist of some sort to change the look of the site. its probs just that i am sure! chill :)

Check your link addy
Amibench is a .org web address not a .net one
And for the record it is still up and running
cheers

Do you guys ever check out
The News? (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47177) :-D
-
Its true, I have closed the site, the domains are not currently forsale (through I did broach the thought with one person).
I am intending to keep the domains for a forthcoming project.
I will not be re-opening AmiBench in its current form.
-
@ tecno
Why did you close it? You should leave it open or at least give notice ... I check that site out almost every day!!
-
Over the recent years the site seems to have very little adds on there which is a shame,so its pretty obivous the site was gonna get closed with hardly anyone using it anymore.
-
I think that AmiBench is going to be a smaller part of a bigger thing.
It's a sign of the times that it was so slow traffic wise.
Its a shame to see it as it was currently after all it was fantastic in its hayday (used to get 50K hits a week). To go from that to a mere dribble in the last year or so was very saddening

I feel for you m8y. Must have been downright demoralizing tbh!
Any chance of a clue as to what the bigger thing might be to allow the smaller AmiBench bit to function some more?
Whatever, all the Best Mark & thanks for some Golden years! :-)

Wasn't there a news item saying it was down for good, officially?
edit: :-P
-
:-( :-( :-(  :boohoo: :boohoo:
I cant believe it I loved Amibench.
I should have donated when I had the money.
Its all my fault
-
I used amibench too:(
Would be nice if you sold the domain name nd it gt updated and people could log in with accounts and post for sale on an unlimited ammount of time plus the user can leave an auction listing open for as long as they want until the bids get higher.
Amibench should come back bigger and better!
With a picture manager and bid function and accounts.
I think there also should be a small percentage taken for any item that sells to go to amibench like 3% of total ammount to keep the server up.
New logo new design, same name.
Regards.

Ummm, okay it's time for me to chime in for one of those rare times I do..
I thought Amigians would be used to heartache and disappointment by now?

@ all
OldSkool UK are looking to set up an alternative site to replace AmiBench, they are posting on EAB for web coders to join the project. Here's the link:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=33274
If you want something like Amibench back, go and support them.
@ Paradox
Tecno isn't releasing the domain name, he is keeping it for a future project, the only alternative is to create another site to support Amiga scene trading outside Ebay.
WTF
