WATCH OUT! SCAM ARTIST DOOMY IS BACK ON EBAY AGAIN
UNDER NEW ID "hgcsales"
-
According to the guys around here, that's just Doomy. Don't pay him no mind.
(or Paypal, cash, cheque, Visa, part trade, etc.)
-
Does he ever sell anything? He's always quite a bit above market for his items.
-
EBAY ID: retrogeek001,redmark001,pacificanw
AND NOW hgcsales
Retrogeek aka Doomy aka spenceranne aka Boingboss
YES IT IS THE SAME PERSON , YOU CAN READ ALL HIS FEEDBACK
PRESENT AND PASSED BY LOGGING IN TO EBAY
YOU CAN ALSO DO SEARCH USING GOOGLE.COM SIMPLY TYPE
doomy aka amiga IN THE SEARCH WINDOW TO GET RESULTS
-
Great, I had no idea about this person and I just bought a RAM expansion card from him. Oh well, if I get screwed, I guess I'm only out $20 - could be worse.
-
How do you know this is doomy? I saw an auction from this guy for a 1084? or something amiga RGB monitor a few days ago. Didn't bid cause he didn't take paypal, nobody else bid either. He takes money order only, the most risky way to buy something via ebay, no thanks.
-
Only people who lack common sence would send money in post, But this is indeed the only way he can accept international payment... I would never send money that could just be "LOST" along the way . Thats just stupid ...
-
This guy could be totally legit, who knows? There isn't anything thing I see that links him to anybody else... His payment method is too risky for me though, so no sale from me.
-
I know unfortunately - this is not a legit person
i have his address phone number it matches the one and only
Rip off on Ebay !
If you like I can post this information public -no problem

-

Looks like this guy's got a worse reputation than me lol
Ive have seen some of his videos I think there brilliant :-D
Im going to buy something off him for a buzz.
A^T  :-D

I asked if seller allowed local pick up. Here is what the person had to say:
'Yes, I do allow local pickup, but you will still have to pay a $10 handling fee. The reason why I only accept a Postal money order or a check from a well known bank in the US is because I have been ripped off in the past. For instance, I once sold a guy a rare vintage black GI Joe for $431.00. He mailed me a Bank Check. I deposited the bank check into my own account. Then I shipped the guy his GI Joe. When he received the packaged, he issued a stop-payment on the bank check and kept the GI Joe. I then filed a complaint with the IFCC and eBay suspended the guy's account. The same thing happened again when I sold to some guy a rare Matchbox MOY for $335.00. He stopped the payment and kept the car. Now, because of those two jerks, I only accept cash, a postal money order, or a check from US Bank or Wells Fargo Bank. The reason why I do not accept PayPal is because PayPal is not a bank. By accepting PayPal a person loses all of their rights that they would otherwise have by going through a real bank or by using a real credit card. I have been selling on eBay for over 7 years, in all of that time I have never ripped anyone off. But, some people just like to spread lies about me. Oh well.'
WHERE have we heard that before?
-
Exactly!
They are trying to hord Amiga to them selves and its not going to happen.
Lies are spread about anyone who steps in and tries to sell Amiga related stuff.
Its a way of keeping Amiga and all the IP's to themselves, allthough its just a few websites they feel that they are right and dont want anyone in. Im not going to name the websites in question or the owners even tho one of them looks like a leppa.
He sounds like a long suffering Amigan (retrogeek) thats been rejected and mamed apon like me and what ever he does gets bad luck.
Im going to have to contact this guy and fins out the real truth!
Come on RetroGeek Doomy tell us it all from start to finish, I;m ready to listen to his whole side of the story and people should make there own opinions inside of piggybacking on bullsh*t.
-
I have been selling on eBay for over 7 years, in all of that time I have never ripped anyone off. But, some people just like to spread lies about me. Oh well.'
I have never ripped anyone off..
He sounds like a very funny guy :-D
-
Come on DOOMY/RETROGEEK tell us all your well funny
lol@Chain by the way
I think this guy really does look like a retro geek. Wow nice hair style dude!
Do you goto same haridressers as Bill Gates?
This guy is F*cking mental
-
The guys Famous yo!

You're right! Just look at all the lies about Amigakit!

Amigakit was made after MY Amigashop.co.uk was slammed.
They ahve been around for ages and must have been in the process of making the site when they saw mine up before theirs.
They were getting praised even before they sold anything.
And I was geeting slammed even before I sold anything.
I, Mr Robert Lee O'Neill does it first always! Period.
Get the facts straight motorollin you know nothing.
If you have problem with that PMAIL me otherwise F*ckoff!
-
I deposited the bank check into my own account. Then I shipped the guy his GI Joe.
Also proving this person is a noob.
Step 1 - Deposite bank check.
Step 2 - Wait for funds to clear! (3-10 days)
Step 3 - Ship item.
I've done many check transactions on ebay that worked fine. I always made buyers aware... no ship until I see $$$. Sure ebay can be a dangerous place, but if more people used recommended precations, risks would be greatly reduced. I've been on ebay about 9 years. Out of about 200 transactions, I got taken once for about $35US. 8 years ago I took a chance buying from a new user with a feedback rating of (1) without asking alot of questions. The guy was reported and banned, and that mistake was never repeated.
Plaz
-
That is a bit daft, sending the item when the funds are not clear is stupid.
-
This guy has a well earned reputation. If someone has that many profiles on ebay, he cant be a honest man.
-
I think it could be a bad case of same address details or phone numbers or bankdetails and everytime he joins paypal and ebay they f*ck him up or someone does it for him.
As a sole trader on eBay the pathway is not clear and you have to pass firey bridges to advance. and sometimes you have to wait ages to sort things out and this is where most people fail.
Regards.

@Paradox
Who has been around the longest, or who "got there first", is not my concern. My concern is getting good service. To say that *anybody* who tries to sell Amiga stuff gets bad press is nonsense. It's only the ones who fail to provide the service for which they are paid which are badmouthed.

Untrue Moto I was slammed and not even sold anything.
-
-Edited by moderator- Personal attack. This is your first warning!
-
If you can provide a link or a quote then I will gladly concede, though I don't see why you would be criticised as a seller unless a transaction had at some point gone sour.

I agree some transaction may have had problems or people may have been scammed before but not my me.
The best thing to do is be accurate on descriptions and send thingds recorded delivery and if the customer is not happy with it they can send the item back and get a full refund.
But even if you do everything right you still come accross problem and time wasting which in some cases mashes you up and it doesnt help someone slamming you on forums when it out of your hands.
If this guy Doomy/Retrogeek does scam people its nothing but real cheek,, the guys done videos on youtube or whatever about computers. lol
:-o
look (http://www.retrogeekcomputers.com/aboutme.htm)
Actually the sites alright theres some good picturs and stuff on there I cant see this guy ripping people off man come on.

Please read the forum guidelines, personal attacks or foul mouthed language are not allowed in here. Besides that it doesn't make you look that intelligent either.
Everybody's got their right to have an opinion about someone else (and those opinions are mostly accurate to the truth when doomy/retrogeek/hgc is discussed here) and if you can't handle that, take your issues or problems elsewhere please...
-
Isn't Doomy well known for coming on here under a pseudonym and praising the ebay doomy?
Paradox , you sound just like him, except you haven't mentioned 'military spec' yet.
*edit* Oh dear, I see you're taking pre-orders for OS4 Classic - i'm sure you'll refund anyone stupid enough to buy from you when/if it never gets released.
-
Nobody wants to buy stuff from guys who toss around "f-you", and "a-hole" in the forums.
-
Dont forget trying to insult people by mentioning their sexuality so an obvious homophobe
-
anyway back on topic. i found this amiga 2500 auction from our mutual friend doomy:
Commodore Amiga 2500 Computer with Keyboard and Manual (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320153456488)
..anyone here surpised by the following statment in the item description:
I will not let this fabulous Amiga 2500 go for less then $99.95. If it does not sell this time, I will just smash it up and throw it in the dumpster.[/b] So, if you want this computer, bid on it. The first time that I listed this Amiga 2500 computer 1317 people viewed it. So, I know that this is a very desirable computer. It is very clean and works great.
unbelievable! :-D
-
And as we can see here, Amiga.org is displaying a doomy auction!
-
!ROFL! so even amiga.org is guilty of advertiseing doomy? wot an sensational own goal1!!!!!
-
@Paradox,
Just grow up, if you get a bad reputation on the forum thats your problem. The only thing I dislike about AmigaKit is that it's a tad expensive but you need to make money somehow. besides he has good service. YOU seem a bit of a Berk to me and Moto has every right to his opinion, no wonder people dislike you.
STOP PRESSING YOUR VIEWS AND SHUT UP FOR ONCE!
-
@therail
Well, that's out the hands of amiga.org. The add just scans ebay for the word "Amiga" and displays it. The good thing is though, that amiga.org get's a penny or two everytime some clicks on the ebay adds here on the site.
So instead, doomy is actually helping us keeping the site alive. How ironic is that :-)
-
@all
http://www.retrogeekcomputers.com/retrogeekvideos.htm
the retrogeek videos is the best ever
@paradox
we know about you and your a scammer, end of story. that preorder aos4.0 scam is a new one from you, we are not idiots you know...
-
here is the new doomy, checkout what he trys to scam people with...
http://myworld.ebay.com/hgcsales/
-
ok, this totally proves HGC Sales is Doomy.
From the HGC Sales auction:
Notice the stand that thing is sitting on. It's homemade.
From doomys website about his crappy and boring videos:
It's the same stand in both pictures.
-
Yep, about as exciting as water in a coctail bar. But the odd thing is despite being very crude with his replies to perfectly viable questions, he has no bad feedback.
Why does he take photos with all the extras that doesn't come with it? Then makes up excuses like "They wont be included with a start price like that" WHO THE HELL WOULD KNOW THAT!? HE NEVER EVEN SAID IT WASN'T INCLUDED!
Plus he doesn't seem to understand P+P AKA: Postage and packing and insists you add $18, what the hell!?
-
@Paradox
Amigakit was made after MY Amigashop.co.uk was slammed
During your many Amiga web shop incarnations did you ever own or involved in a website around 1999-2000 called Amigastuff.co.uk? I'm refering in particular to it's sister website, I think it was called Amigagames.co.uk or something similar?
-

And it isnt big enough to fit the keyboard under!! The whole point of a stand like that.
-
This is better than some soap operas.
It is bad for him to be like that if he is the computer pro. he says he is.
-
no I started amigashop.co.uk then amber-inc then paradox computers and now alien-tek.com
That retrogeek does look like a bit of a hardened up criminal now actually he does all his scamming from a yaught.
And dont take my insults personally i'm only messing around.
Regards.

AMIBY wrote:

Is it just me, or does someone that has been selling for 7 years usually have more than a feedback of "8"?
-
It's definitely him. It's been pointed out in other threads here. And only his grammar can make me cringe to the brink of a seizure.
Someone PLEASE tell him the difference between "then" and "than." Please?!
Oh, and "I do not and never will accept PayPal" comment... I'm betting it's PayPal that will not accept him. I'd like to see a better reason from him than (<- proper usage!) "PayPal is not a bank."
-
I know this- regardless who it is, anyone that puts in an ad that they will smash an A2500 into little bits and throw it in a dumpster if they don't get their reserve met is a total mental defective.
-
koaftder,
Nice spot on matching up the computer stand with an existing picture of Doomy. By the way, that stand is obviously modeled on Doomy's hairline as seen in the same picture.
-
Hey Paradox, I remember you winning one of my ebay items years ago and never paying. I remember speaking to your mum too!
So they're both back eh? remember to add alien-tek.com to your list of scammers too.
It is a pitty these threads always get deleted, we need to keep a list of people not to trust, as time has proven they always come back.

LOL!! Hmmm... Weren't you the guy trying to sell something on Ebay that hasn't even been release yet?? :-D I guess you haven't sold "anything" yet. You were just selling "nothing".
