I don't know if it was a good idea to open this thread in the CF, since this part of A.org is mainly accessed by not-so-active-anymore Amiga users, (this is an impression i have, perhaps i'm wrong, no offence) but i didn't want it to appear in the "recent post", either. So..
I have observe some situations lately that i can't explain using reason. I feel like i'm being punished for something.. I feel that people avoid my threads, etc and i don't know why. Therefore, i just want to ask this simple question:
Are there any people in this forum who hate me. If you hate me, specify why. A simple "yes" would be meaningless.
(Edited by me)

Nope.
Seems a strange thing to ask, though. Can you point to any examples?

That's a nice thing to hear from you, Boot_WB.

Yes, i know. It seems almost paranoid at the first glance.
Can you point to any examples?
No. At least not for now. I don't think that it would be a good idea.

Hi,
I think hatred would be a really strong thing to feel about someone in an online forum. I would also be interested to see which examples have led you to feel this way.
I guess you're probably just going through a rough patch in your life. I think that happens to everyone. It can be really easy to start reading meaning into things which have none, or misinterpreting intentions when you're feeling down.
I hope things pick up for you. Maybe now would be a good time to catch up with some old mates over a few pints, if you're into that.

Well you seem like a great Amiga buddie to me :pint:
I hope I've done nothing to make you feel this way?

There was me thinking this was going to be a thread by Paradox :lol:
I seem to remember disagreeing quite strongly with you on one particular occasion. But that certainly doesn't mean I hate you. I think Oliver's suggestion is a good one. It certainly does sound like you're quite down at the moment, and spending time with good friends is usually a great remedy for that.

You all hate me, don't you?
( ;-) )
-
Hey, the b-side (Hurdy-Gurdy mushroom man) was good too! :-D
Damn, there goes my street cred..
-
please give us a reason why someone would hate you. all I know about you is the thread you started about some os 3.9 patches, which was quite helpful and made me feel grateful.

I get people ignoring my threads and posts all the time. It's nothing personal, sometimes you don't strike a chord with them. If I was to worry about the number of hot-topic threads I've seen halt immediately after I post to them, I wouldn't sleep at night. ;-)

Plus, a forum is a bit formal, so to say. You don't have the same communication as a face-to-face chat.

AmigaMance started the "we shouldn't slag off developers in case they do a Chris Hodge on us" thread. A few people (myself included) disagreed quite strongly with this view. But AmigaMance, that doesn't mean people hate you. A forum, just like real life, is full of people who may or may not disagree with you on certain subjects. But that doesn't mean they hate you.

Bah, I've had plenty of threads get pooh-poohed over the years, whats worse is that sometimes I get the feeling that my very presence in a thread is enough to kill it :lol: Just relax and pour yourself a nice cold ale, all is fine and dandy :-)

@Oliver
What you are saying is convincing and perhaps you're right. I am indeed a little stressed-up lately..
Actually, your explanation was in the back of my head before you post it, as an alternative one. I still have my doubts though.
@A4000_Mad
Well you seem like a great Amiga buddie to me
Thank you!
I hope I've done nothing to make you feel this way?
Not at all. I consider you a nice guy, too. :-)
@motorollin

Yes, i remember that thread. I didn't mind that you disagreed with me on that subject. You wasn't rude or anything.
I think Oliver's suggestion is a good one.
Yeah, propably. Oliver seems well-versed in the field of psychology.

@countzero
please give us a reason why someone would hate you.
There are a lot of reasons that would make someone to hate you on the net. From that he doesn't like your avatar to an incident where you addressed to him somewhat impolitely, 5 years ago. :-)
all I know about you is the thread you started about some os 3.9 patches, which was quite helpful and made me feel grateful.
I'm glad that you like it and you still remember it! In fact... i was feeling so bad yesterday, that i deleted all of my posts in that tutotial, :rolleyes: while i was thinking "why the hell do i care? Most ppl are pissing on my threads. What's the point?" :rolleyes:
I'm sure i have store it somewhere. I will restore it asap.
@uncharted

This is what makes me feel so agree basically. :-) I'm not an attention drawer, but i find this so hard to explain on such high-traffic forum. :-/

Ok.

Yeah, i also get this feeling. Seriously!
Just relax and pour yourself a nice cold ale, all is fine and dandy
I think i should do just that. Thanks. :-)

Well, I'm no expert, but I've been down and out plenty of times. I usually need someone else to let me know things really aren't so bad. Sometimes I think it's good to hear some advice from someone not so close to home, too.
I think this is a good community here, with plenty of goodwill, but also a healthy dose of conflict. There are also many threads here, which I read, and appreciate, but I don't have anything new to add to them. Like if some of the technical gurus are giving advice: what more could I say? I just appreciate them quietly, rather than giving a one line response. I think you can't read too much into the feedback, or lack of it. I have faith in the goodwill here.
Hope you enjoy that ale :pint:

Thank you very much :-) :-) :-)
As you can see, no-one has come forward to say that they dislike you :banana: Could you also have been feeling a bit down due to the miserable, cold and wet November with the expense of Xmas just a month away? (I usually start my panic buying on about the 21st and you can expect your card to be posted on the 22nd :-D)

Well said. I'm sure that was of help to AmigaMance along with the other replies :-)

I think I'll go and post in some other threads as well, so that the person who posted last doesn't feel like a thread killer ;-)

I have observed that weather does affect my psychology, but not this year because i keep thinking that OS4 is coming. :-D
Thank you for the moral support.

Me too. I'm counting down the days. Only 9 to go :-)
thank you for the moral support.
You're very welcome :cheers:

There was me thinking this was going to be a thread by Paradox
Thats the first thing I thought too, but as there was only 18 replies I thought nah cant be :lol:
-
Dude, don't be Emo! ;-)
Seriously, yhough, we all get a bit of thrashing here, every now and then. Nothing to be upset about.
I can go do some thread necromancy, if you want. :-)

Yep, me too; that was my first thought. But now that I'm thinking about it some more, would it be against the regulations to run that as a poll? ;-)
hmm, it's election time here in Australia; it must be getting to me.
Well, hatred is still way too strong a feeling to have even for Paradox, but he sure hasn't earned my respect.
-
I don't hate you. The Real IRA doesn't hate anyone :-)
-
Te he! You're a thread killer because no-one posted after you.
