Got my X-Surf in today. Installed it in my 4k, but the power light is flashing constantly. I took the card out and all is well. Put it in the slot where my cybervision goes, still same thing.... any ideas?? :-(

Does it do the same thing in one of your other Amigas? If so then the card must be dead.

Doesn't mean it can't be dead :-) Did you test it in another machine?

I can try later.. i'm really just using one amiga now....have to dig out my 1960 tonight then

Well, the fact that another card works in the same slot does suggest that the X-Surf is at fault rather than the Amiga. But it's worth testing in another machine if you can.

I think the problem is solved. Somehow my cyberstorm came loose..

But wait...
Now when I try to go online the whole system locks up~! I ran the diagnostics and it does the same crap... I can see the activity blinking as well as the link light on. MiamiDX sees the card too...
Any ideas folks?

Different slots, make sure the daughter card is seated well, check for shorts with the case, make sure that the CPU card and RAM are seated well.
-
I have all the slots in my A3000D filled and one of them is the X-surf.
I do remember having to jocky the cards to different slots in order for all to work. Not sure why though??

Tried all the Z2 slots... all my other cards are working fine. I replaced the buster chip also. Same sh!t different day.. Kinda bummed here guess i'll have to send it back.. It just locks up the system when I run testboard or when I try to load a page in ibrowse or even just open amirc.
-
bummage... where the hell do you get a "NEW" xsurf card in 2007?
-
X-surf are available from Amigakit (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=250&osCsid=1f72bc8c0dfb40ce4db1f43d00a619ad)

Funny, because I had exactly the same thing happen to me. Not with an X-surf but with a brand new AriadneII. This was several years ago. I tried everything except cartwheels and saltlicks. The AriadneII just absolutely refused to work no matter what I did. Eventually I just chucked it. Since then I've had two X-surf cards, one of which has worked flawlessly. The other one likes to take vacations every now and then.. Some days it works, other days it doesn't. Go figure :-?

Have you tried the x-surf on it's own, no other cards in place?
