Thinking of buying a a A2000 system. The specifics:
2 - 880K floppy drives
2 HD's, a Quantum 105S ProDrive LPS
Quantum 210S ProDrive
Rev. 4.3 MB
Flicker Fixer
GVP Accelerator
030 CPU/68882 FPU/68030 MMU w/8 megs memory
2.0 ROM
KS 37.175
Exec 37.132
Disk Ver 40.42,
ECS NTSC 1 meg Agnus
Normal Denise
mouse and keyboard
For $100 dollars. Is it a good deal?

Yes, that's damn good. The 030 is worth more then that alone, I would kill for one of them!
-
That's what I thought too.. just been out the Amiga community for a while, and not sure what the going price for things should be.
-
They've become collectors items and price has gone completely out of any relationship with reality. Amiga died young and has become the Elvis of personal computers...
-
Grab it!!! its a bargain.
-
- It's got a flicker fixer
- The 030 card has 8MB, so you don't have to hunt for rare and expensive GVP simms.
Seriously, take it before it's gone! (I bet Doomy got a hard one reading those specs :-) )
The only thing left to do is drop in some 3.1 ROMs...

A useful bit of information:
The Quantum 105S hard drives are what was found in SPARCstation 2s, and they have a manufacturing fault.
If your 105S when plugged in doesn't start to spin up, it's because the lubricating oil has gunked up or something, can't remember exactly. A few short sharp raps on the top will usually free it up and next time you plug it in it'll start up just fine.
Of course you'll probably want to change that disk anyway (100MB not being massive!) but they're good solid drives - I use mine as a boot disk for my SPARC 10. :)

Go for it before someone else do it..

In my A2K there is KS2.05 and the original MC68000. I think this machine doesn´t gives the same feeling with a 030. Of course it´s damn good when you have it, but a plain 68000 with a SCSI and some ram... who needs more for a system of that era? :) Grab it asap, by the way.
I think Doomy isn´t interested in a non-military-spec A2K ;)

It's a good deal, but damn big :) Not the most "wife friendly" Amiga.

Take it if it works, a hell of a deal. also check the battery on the motherboard for leaks and damage. Cheers!!!
