Title: Selling one of my "big" Miggys
Post by: stopthegop on November 12, 2007, 05:58:07 AM
I'm not really eager to sell this, but I've been considering the possibility of an absence of purpose in my owning two fully expanded Amiga 4000 Towers when I really only use one, while the other basically collects dust.   Plus, I could use the extra space...  Anyway, that said -- one of them is unofficially up for grabs, sans ebay (for now).

Here is the specs for the one I don't use:

-Amiga Technologies A4000T.
-Phase5CyberstormPPC 060@50/604e@233 (original, unmodified and recently back from a "vacation in France".
-Picasso IV 4M Graphics card w/Concierto Module.
-GVP port expander.
-Xsurf ethernet card (flaky. works sometimes, not others).
-Vlab Motion Card
-version 40.70 kickstart 3.1 ROMs
-PP&S "Program 3000" 64M RAM expansion card, which does work in this Amiga!  This card is, shall we say, "rare".
-Elbox 2M Flash Rom card.
-Total Fast Ram is 208MB.  128M onboard the cyberstorm + 64M on the PP&S + 16M on the mobo.
-Also included is a SCSI DVD drive, a crappy IDE CDROM drive, a crappy 5.1g IDE hard drive, HD Floppy drive (internal), and a broken but repairable Quantum SDLT 320 SCSI tape drive (15M/second...to tape!).  SDLT drives are actually much faster than 15M/S, the Amiga is the bottleneck. But imagine booting into Linux from a DLT tape -on your Amiga- and having a few hundred gigabytes of available storage on your boot partition.  And its faster than most hard drives!
-I'm not including any registerable software with the sale because, as I said, I have another setup just like it that I use daily.  Its not going anywhere.  :)  I also have an A1200 that is staying.

I'm willing to ship this anywhere you're budget will let you.  I'm not going to screw anyone on bogus "surcharges", "packing fees", "Gas to the post office fees", "Standing in line picking my @ss fees", or anything like that.  I will totally work with you on the logistics to get the best possible rate in a reasonable amount of time.  Everything will be packed for war.  I take no chances when it comes to packaging (ask Motorollin). No suprises.  Everything listed (unless stated otherwise is working as I write this.  I will guarantee it to work when you recieve it but, following that, you're on your own.  This is a top-of-the-line turnkey Amiga ready to rock n' roll.  OS4 ready.

Taking offers now.

edit: also willing to throw in a Peggy Plus mpeg decoder and player. Printed manual and driver disk incl.

*Bump*

Europeans: here's your chance for a turnkey OS4 system for relatively cheap.  I mean since the US Dollar is in the toilet these days, the exchange rate should be pretty favorable.

I think that even with the cheap dollar, the price for the CSPPC alone will be out of my league. Maybe if I sell some (all?) of my other systems first...

Good luck selling it, looks like a VERY cool machine to me...

Nice.

Completely out of my league, though...

:-o

Nice machine. Unfortunately I could never justify spending that much cash on a machine I can't use for daily work. If I made twice what I make now, that might be a different story...

Tempting, very tempting, but no, it would cost me my manhood. Besides, I just bought a whole lot.  :-D  :-D
