Title: who will buy takeaways and beer instead?
Post by: lorddef on July 13, 2003, 03:18:55 PM
What I would like to know is who will be spending their money on kebabs and beer rather than a "new" Amiga?

6 months kebab and beer money would easily raise the funds for an A1 or a Peg.

Yeah, kebab and beer (http://www.karhu.fi) for me. And an accelerator board for a REAL (classic) Amiga too  :-D

Hmm...  Maybe not kebobs, but probably wings and beer for me.  I figure by skipping/delaying the A1 for a year, it'll pay for my wings and beer for that year.  Maybe after that, OS4 will be out.  ;-)

I bought my AmigaOne almost entirely from the money I got back from the danish taxdepartment in the spring. So there is plenty of money(Well, almost) to buy kebab and beer and what not for... Modeltrains, Dungeons & Dragons books and so on...

Had my first :pint: in ages yesterday... Damn, it was good!

Kerbabs are made from roadkill  last time I checked, so I'll pass on that. Maybe some antibiotic stuffed KFC for me. :-D  ;-)

I am not sure but I have this image in my memory kebab should be made of sheep? Not that there is anything wrong in squirrelmeat.

Nope, it's made from cow/ox meat. At least that's what one of my local kebabpushers told me when I asked :-)

Lambs vagina, eyeballs, rat etc etc.  Even if it were made out of this I would still eat it, but the truth of the matter is that (here in the UK at least) we have very tight health and safety laws, so even if it is not prime cut lamb, it is decent cuts of lamb.

BEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (http://www.belgianbeerbox.com/)

More BEER!!!!! (http://www.belgianbeers.co.uk/contact.htm)

There was also a much cooler site - a shop based in Belgium, and it was fantastic - but I've forgpotten the URL, and I've done a google but cant find it...

I totally and utterly abhore the Kebab. Its heart attack food, and leaves you with a furry tongue in the morning.. and its lamb, and unlike some of my fellow countruy men, I hate the taste of the greasy buggers...  :pint:  :pint:  :pint:

As for A1 or beer, well neither I'm affraid, as I'm flat broke.... and the way things are going im this close to telling my employer to go and ****  themselves....

Well... I was not going to buy either anyway.. and I do drink plenty of Hoegaarden AND eat kebabs (proper ones - shish, not 'salmonella on a stick' [aka donner])

So.. beer and kebabs, for sure, like any self-respecting Scot :¬)  Chips and cheese at a push, rather than kebab.. pizza works for a change of pace.

True, but the original kebab (from Turkey) is made of sheep.

Well...
I have bought my Aone allready, but with this kind of weather man needs some beer. Way over 25 degrees and should go on. Hopefully more than this wee, since my holiday starts on Friday.

If you ask me, the best Finnish beer is  Olvi CXX (http://www.olvi.fi/positiivinen/tuotteet/oluet/CXX/), but then beer making is very young in Finland, so what would I know :(

About kebab...
We use to go to this Punjab Kebab place every friday for lunch from my work place, since it is "punjab perjantai" (perjantai = Friday in Finnish)
