Title: 3C574 PCMCIA Ethernet?
Post by: corsavert on November 10, 2007, 12:00:10 AM
Anyone ever try one on a 1200? This is a 3Com 16bit 10/100 PCMCIA card.

I guess everyone has actually RTFM'd before trying.

 It maybe works.

Use the 3C589 driver (http://aminet.net/driver/net/3c589.lha), from aminet.

Yeah, I RTFMed and everything says it 'maybe' works using that driver. I have a (free) 3c574 on the way. Was hoping to find that someone had verified whether it does or does not work. Will advise what my results are.

Just a little tip: a lot of those 3COM cards are multi-functionals (modem, 10/100 LAN, etc).

Plug it to a laptop peecee in order to check the "features" of the card.

If they don't match what the Amiga expected, download a peecee utility from the 3COM site to edit the flash ram inside the card.

This does not work with the Amiga 600 or 1200

That's about as definitive an answer as possible - Thanks! (even though it's not what I was hoping to hear).
