Thanks moto,
I was about to go looking for PowerIcons :pint:

i dont understand any of the below?
PowerIcons should be launched in your Startup-Sequence with RUN (it doesn't detach itself) JUST BEFORE LoadWB.
A typical line would look like:
...
Run >NIL: PowerIcons >NIL: [options]
LoadWB
EndCLI >NIL:
-
press right amiga and then e
type ed S:Startup-Sequence
scroll to the bottom
you'll see LoadWB line there and the end
type:
Run >NIL: PowerIcons >NIL:
just before loadwb and then save the file.
You can use editpad too if you have OS3.9

Thanks for that FaLLeNOnE,
It works fine apart from my Ram Disk now being at the bottom right hand side of the screen and it won't budge unless I deactivate PowerIcons :-?
Anyway, I'm also going to give IconBeFast (http://aminet.net/search?query=iconBeFast) a try to see if it will speed up Ken's Icons a bit.
I guess the extra line for the Startup-Sequence will be:-
Run >NIL: IconBeFast >NIL:
Is that correct?
@ carvedeye
You do have a 16 bit screenmode don't you mate? In 8 bit screenmode I just saw white squares instead of the nice icons.

Do you mean it moves back where it was before after a reboot, or you can't move it at all?

I've tried moving the Ram Disk back to the top left of the screen and snapshotting, but after a reboot it is back at the very bottom right. It is so far down that I can only see the icon and not the words Ram Disk below it. However, if I deactivate PowerIcons by putting a semi-colon in front of the line in my Startup-Sequence and reboot, the Ram Disk icon is back in its proper place at the top left of the screen.

Normal behaviour. When you snapshot, it saves it to RAM:disk.info. When you reboot, RAM: is flushed and RAM:disk.info goes back to default.

The PNG icon is probably in a different place to the normal one, which might be ENV:def_ramdisk.info, which is probably in the correct place.
Solution: Let PowerIcons run. Put the RAM Disk icon where you want it and snapshot. Open a shell and type the following:
Copy RAM:disk.info S:ram.info
Then edit your startup-sequence and add the following line after PowerIcons runs:
Copy S:ram.info RAM:disk.info

A4000_Mad: There's lots of Png Icons (http://aminet.net/pix/picon) available on aminet - they have their own directory.
I made a few of those, btw. Although they are not your typical icons. People seem to like my Guitar icons (http://aminet.net/package/pix/picon/guitar_icons), but the Flower Icons (http://aminet.net/package/pix/picon/flower_icon) may be a bit too 'girly' for some people.
Personally, I get a big laugh over other's pizza and cheese icons

Your solution has fixed it thank you very much indeed moto :-)
The odd thing is that I have not changed the Ram Disk or any of my partition or drawer icons to PNG. So far I have only run PowerIcons to be able to see the great demo icons. Oh well!
@ cecilia
Thanks for the links. I'll go and get some more icons now :pint:

You're welcome! PNG icons are great. I'm still thinking of drawing some new ones for my A4000. I want to create some which look more Amiga-like than the ones I'm using now, but obviously are a bit smarter than the originals :-)

If I recall correctly (and who knows these days) :-D The ram disk isn't actually 'real'. When you:
Copy RAM:disk.info S:ram.info
you actually create a real icon in a real place and THEN you can Snap it where you want for all eternity.
Or something like that.

My pleasure. I love to see all the Png icons people have made - they are such fun. It's THIS type of silly nonsense that has always made me love the Amiga.

Well I think your flowers and guitars are of awsome quality along the rest that I have seen so far :-)

I don't suppose things have advanced now so that you could use something similar to CopyIcon44 to simply drop a photo you fancy in the left window and then drop a drawer/partition/tool in the right window and get a nice PNG icon for it?

I think it's only available for MorphOS.
At least I haven't seen it for OS4 and I haven't seen anything like that for OS3.9

RAWBinfo allows you to drop the PNG icon in to the Information window of the destination icon, and it will replace the icon with the PNG. That app, however, requires OS3.5+.

Thanks again moto,
I've always seen rawbinfo in the WBStartup drawers of OS3.5 and OS3.9, but didn't know it was that which made the simple icon copying possible. It's pretty cool!
@ cecilia
Thanks. So if you see a photo on the Internet that you would like as a PNG icon to use with PowerIcons, how should you proceed? (just briefly) I guess you would have to reduce it to a small size first which is no problem at all.

As this question has been asked before I (cleverly) wrote this little explaination (http://www.geocities.com/ceciliafx/new/png/png.html) of how to make a PNG icon if you are using IFX. Just download the PDF.
If you don't have IFX (What??!!), last I looked the steps should be understandable enough in most other image making programs. If you have questions, just ask me.

Just download the PDF.
I've got it thank you. It was indeed very clever of you to know that I would ask for instructions

Will do :pint:
