I haven't used Protracker in years but wasn't ST-00: originally a floppy disk that contained the sound samples? I'd make a new directory somewhere and assign ST-00: to it in your startup-sequence/user-startup.

eg..

makedir dh0:dirname

Then...

assign st-00: dh0:dirname

Or something like that. It's been a while.

The ST-xx disks contain instruments (samples), you can download them from Aminet (http://aminet.net/mods/inst) aswell.

ST-00 was the name of the floppy from where Sound/Noise/ProTracker was booted, while the samples floppies labels started from ST-01. ST-00 is still required by Protracker even if installed on a harddrive, this assign is usually added in the user-startup file by the PT installer, or made by clicking a provided assign icon. You can do it manually, too, with "assign ST-00: pathwherePTis/".
