Could this (http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/status.html) be used to run for eg. OS4?

I think Quemu will be in the same situation as PearPC regarding OS4.
It might be able to if you get the right ROMs and stuff to use with them, but the programmes are likely to need modifying for that.

Brief summary from Amigaworld irc in June, 2006:
Question was asked of a developer concerning his prior statements about qemu emulating a1 hardware.
He was asked if it had ever managed to boot OS4. The developer answered "yes". He also added that it felt faster than he expected, that he was getting what "felt" like a 400Mhz PPC. Hardware used was stated as being AMD64 Athlon 3600+ or the like. When asked which CPU it emulated, he indicated it showed as a 750 variant G3. He also claimed that he had modifed a linux kernel and allowed QEMU to hit "real" h/w devices....like a Voodo 3 and Si680 IDE controller chip. He also mentioned that Amiga Inc. was receptive to the idea at that time.

Heh, why do I get the idea that A Inc's business model is to nudge and hint to developers, such that they figure that A Inc is interested in a project, so proceed with it... Whereupon they get the cold shoulder... then decide to try and release it themselves to recoup costs... Whereupon A Inc sues them.

If somebody hacks OS4 to work on either QEmu or a PPC Mac, then I will buy a license for OS4 Classic and then use the hacked version. So please, somebody do it :-)

Actually, two seperate projects at two points in time concerning OS4 on PPC Mac were also proposed to Amiga Inc.
1st was rejected from a reasoning standpoint of having to support old hardware (which included supply issues).
2nd was Moana, which is mentioned in the legal activity docs, iirc.
Interesting that a warehouse with 500 Mac minis was supposedly available and ready to go concerning the 1st project rejected.

You know that OS4 emulation is a tool of the devil, right?
