Hi
I am unable to boot in to my OS3.9 because there is a problem with the mixer program.
so how can i remove files from the early boot menu,if i boot without startup sequence is there a way i can erase files from there?
Thanks
-
Boot with no startup-sequence. Type "ed s:startup-sequence" and check for the mixer in there and remove the line if it's there. Failing that try "ed s:user-startup" and see if it's in there.

Yeah thats what i did do at first but it still wont boot,i get a message along the lines of "Mixer program failed blah blah suspend or reboot.
-
Ok try this. Boot with no startup-sequence, then "dir sys:wbstartup/mixer". Is there anything in there related to the mixer?
Edit - corrected a stupid error in the command.

Is the Mixer program in your wbstartup drawer? If so delete it from there.

I am not 100 sure where the program is?all i know is the main program is in the prefs drawer but there is probably a file in the C drawer.
I am unable to boot the OS as if i hit suspend i just get a blank screen.

If it's not in startup-sequence or user-startup then it is in WBStartup. See above - I have corrected the erroneous command I posted before.

What is the exact name of the file that crashing?
You could also boot from floppy to get to a working Workbench with an emergency disk. Then search for the Mixer file.
