Although this would probable better set as a poll, I have a question for UAE users:
Which kickstart do you prefer to use in UAE?

I would guess it's a 3.1 for system config and 1.3 for old games that do not run on 3.1.
-
It's 3.1 for running OS 3.9 - Kick 1.3 is handy for WHDloading old games... but the OS comes first.
My Vote for 3.1, do you want to set a possible initial target for Kickstart Replacement Part II?
-
Kickstart 1.2/1.3.
-
3.1 since it has most of the bugs fixed in it. All of the previous versions had tons of bugs.
-
3.1, no question about it, you can always use WHDload to load old games that require older amigaDOS versions.

3.9 :hammer:
-
3.9 plus all the extra patches which improve it.
-
All others had loads of bugs!? TOSH! 3.0 was good enough although overall 3.1 gets my vote.
-
1.3
-
1.3 for gaming, 3.1 for anything else.
-
1,3 & 3,1 :-D

Am I right that this is in preparation for 68K emulation/integration? Better go with 3.1, I think, for app compatibility. No point in reintroducing archaic 1.3 functionality into AROS - there's UAE for that.

Problem is alot of people have donated to the bounty because of MiniMig. I don't blame them, a open source hardware project should deserve to get a open source OS.

I could be wrong but i think most people see MiniMig as a step in the right direction and not necessarily as the final solution... if they want an AGA miniMig they need at least 3.0.
The good thing of an open sourced 3.1 kickstart replacement would be that anyone who is knowledgable enough could work on an own 1.3 version from the source...

3.9, of course.
-
1.2 for my A1000
3.1++ for my A1200

No, it is in reference to the kickstart replacment actually.

1.3 of course! ;)

I think it totally depends what you want to do with your amiga. if you want to stick to floppies/adfs/old games, 1.3, and if you want a hd installed system, 3.1 (or 3.9). others are useless (? anybody objecting to this please provide a good reason).

Then the best option is 3.1. Any prior version of the AmigaOS is popular because some games work only with old kickstarts, a kickstart replacement of version 1.3 would not be able to run 100% of the games no matter how polished it is, because some games do direct calls to addresses in ROM space and there is no way to reproduce the exact same behavior. In the end minimig users can use a 3.1 kickstart repleacement to boot their machines and use whdload to load games that require prior kickstarts. Of course this means more RAM is a high priority on any minimig revision.
