Title: Boot issues
Post by: rossi46 on October 16, 2007, 07:29:10 PM
Hi all. I'm having difficulty booting my A1200 tower. It boots to a light grey screen and stops. I tried booting with a CD in the drive and also with a floppy in the drive, but it's the same each time. Any ideas?

I have a 030 accelerator board and 128mb Ram

Thanks

Paul

Hi rossi46,

Im sure the grey colour is an indication of a problem (possibly the ROM chips) but I cant remember exactly what problem.

Someone else on here should be able to help!

Sorry I couldnt be any real help

Make sure all the ROMs are seated... make sure everything is in place.. CPU card is on firm and any memory modules are seated...

Try removing the accelerator. Does it boot without it?

Panic over  :-)

The A1200 tower was one I had built to order and had delivered to me today. I think the courier gave the machine a kicking as it was all loose and hanging inside when I opened it up :-x
Hey - maybe he was an Atari ST fan
Still I re-seated everything and re-connected all the terminals and cables and it's booting now.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
