Title: Can someone spare a set of Workbench 1.3 disks (Florida)
Post by: AMIBY on October 15, 2007, 08:35:17 PM
Hi,
A friendly Amiga user send me the three disks from England, but they got destroyed in the mail. Does anyone have an original set they can spare?
Cheers

What happens during transport is unknown to me, but it seems like some giant magnet has sucked out all the data of each disk. The computer could not read the disks.

I guess. It happened twice in one month, and one set of WB disks looked brand new. :(

Amiga 500
Kick 1.3
Extra memory

Tried on an A1200, could not read them either. Tried with Workbench loaded.

I bought a set from oldsoftware.com for my amiga 1000
Or I could make you a copy. But it will be at least this week  end, before i can set up my amigas. I'm in the process of moving. I'm in Alabama not that far from Florida.

Or, why dont you make yourself a set with the 1200? You can buy the cable needed to transfer the files cheaper than buying
and shipping cost. Then you will still have the cable for more  adf's.

Can't you reformat the disks you have now and just copy over them?  Or are the disks physically destroyed?  Trying to find a mint working set of 20 year old software will be tough.  I can make you a copy of the disks but I am sure you can find someone closer.

Hi Amiby, I've got an original set of 1.2 and 1.3 that I'm willing to let go for the cost of postage and $1 for the disks, just so its "legal".  :rtfm:

TjLaZer: That was a good idea, except I put them in the bin. I will remember that for the future, thanks.

Amiduffer: Thank you, I would like to buy a set of Workbench 1.3 from you. I will PM you. Thanks!
