Here's a puzzler thats bugged me on and off for a few years.
Back in 89-90 a friend had a game on his A500 that we used to play quite a lot. It was a shoot 'em up, 3/4 above view, like Chaos Engine or Alien Breed except the scrolling was limited to vertical only not 8 way.
The sprites were really small like 16x16 pixels yet very detailed (from memory).
In the first level, you walked around a city with a gun and shot thughs, you could upgrade your pistol to shotguns and flamethrowers.
One thing I remember clearly (oddly) is that garbage bins had flies buzzing around the tops.
Its not Syndicate, think earlier...
Does this description jump out at anyone?

If you want your description to jump out at anyone, you're going to need a bigger font.

Jump!

Best to search catagorys in Lemon Amiga. You might stumble across it.

Commando (http://www.lemonamiga.com/?game_id=387) and Ikari Warriors (http://www.lemonamiga.com/?game_id=514) both spring to mind instantly. I don't remember anything about flies around bins, but I only ever played 8bit versions (Amstrad CPC).
There were Amiga versions of both, they're the right age, and were quite big-name games at the time.

Yes indeed that is the game! I just loaded it up and it has those flies buzzing around the trash cans. I also have it for sale if you're interested in it. Just pm with an offer for it.

It appeared both on the Amiga and the Amiga Arcadia coin-op.
