Title: SCSI to IDE - IDE HD in A590?
Post by: Speelgoedmannetje on October 08, 2007, 09:43:44 PM
Can I use this (http://www.vesalia.de/?V02b0f1457564e15745b5656520e514e01101f06435605551c4a0108515d324c536c352c2c6165693647097c6a2e653b781560676b60277829207f105e0a702c62451176454007660c7d494c435719754f4c34795b1346550e4825105f5c0f3b5861727) in my A590?

It'll probably do, but given the price for smaller (few gigs) SCSI HDD I'd prefer native SCSI, transfer speed will be limited to A590 speed (maybe 2 MB/s?). You should be aware that you'll need 7.0 ROMs for >1 GB drives.

I wish I could find some older SCSI harddisks... :-/
500 megabytes will be quite sufficient for my old A500..

In addition to the 7720UW, I've used the ARS-2000FU (http://www.acard.com/english/fb01-product.jsp?idno_no=26&prod_no=ARS-2000FU&type1_title=SCSIDE%20Bridge&type1_idno=2) in my GVP A530 with no issues, just plug and play. So my guess is it should work. (Just an FYI -- The 7720UW didn't fit in the case very well, so you might have a similar issue with your A590. The 2000FU is perfect, though.)

ROMs on the A590, that is, I guess?
