Title: Using a GoldenGate386 in an A2000
Post by: keropi on October 06, 2007, 11:45:17 AM
I wanna use a goldengate386 in an A2000... on the GG manual it says that I need to place a cpu adaptor under the 68000 on the mobo... but I don't have this adaptor
the said A2000 also has a 030 accelerator, so the 68000 is practically useless I think... do I still need the gg adaptor? can I just remove the 68000 from the mobo?  :-?  :-?  :-?

I might be wrong but I think the adapter was only needed with the older 4 layer motherboards if memory servs, it has been many years since I used one of these.

Note: If the card is used in an A2000, then you must use the 68000 CPU adaptor or the card will not work. The adaptor consists of a 68000 socket with a small capacitor (about 10nF) soldered between pins 12 and 14. The 68000 processor should be removed from the motherboard, placed into the adaptor and then reseated.

Shuld do the trick...

I will have to wait and test it when the gg386 actually arrives... Since there will be an accelerator, I guess there will be no need for this "adaptor"
